Jools
I used to use Vox which was very good til they shut it down! I transferred it to Typepad because it was the easiest thing to do at the time, but I'm busy moving it to Wordpress now as I really like it - though I'm still at the dabbling, tweaking and fiddling stage atm! You can read about Wordpress here And sign up for a free blog here
Christian
I use Blogspot. Fnd it easy to use, it's free and I like it. Have a play around with a couple of them and see which one you like....

Charlottechicken
My blog is on the very basic (and free!) Typepad setting. It wasn't too difficult to get the hang of and I have basic computer knowledge and no IT training

craftyhunnypie
I got a blog with google I think it is. But I am soooo bad at updating it. It's probably a year out of date! It's lovely to read others though. Emma.x
rabbitfluff
I'm going to recommend Diaryland despite it being a little bit basic. I think I've tried all the above plus a few others but always seem to go back there. It's just sort of... nice! It's run by 1 chap instead of a big corporation, which I quite like. You can have your blog looking pretty much how you like, it's just the way you update it that isn't brilliant.
