Omletina Kyckling
Only 2 of the 9 were mine, another died, I think Sandie mentioned some of your buffs were hatching. Let's just hope they are all girls and that Sandie gets her green egg layer!!
chick wiggle
Right, to be honest, im not 100% sure, i did tell you id forget didnt i After painstakingly noting down exaclty which egg went where in the incy, after they hatched they didnt stay in the same place naughty chicks Anyway, I have taken a picture of each chick so you can see and hopefully tell me for definate which is which. I think i know which is which but not sure so will leave it to you what do you think? 1 Buff Sussex? 2 3 4 5 6 This is the same chick no.6 7 8 Buff Sussex? 9 this is no 9 again They could be ; Buff Sussex Welsummer Brown leghorn Aracana/corton blue x buff sussex Columbine blue Columbine green Its the black ones have me stumped, i didnt expect that. Over to you Mostin and Omeletina, they're your eggs! Oh just cross posted with you Omeletina, im really not sure if 2 or 3 are yours, have a look and let me know what you think? I dont know if i am ever destined to get my elusive green egg layer Edited March 19, 2011 by Guest
chick wiggle
3,4,6 & 7 are not very good are they, i will try again tomorrow
Omletina Kyckling
I think you said a green and a blue egg hatched from mine, in which case they are columbine females crossed with araucana male so would imagine they would be two chicks who would look the same. The speckled died. I'm guessing the welsummer egg is still in the incy and nothing happening! My brown leghorn lays a white egg so think they are still in the incy too, and my coral nick white hen lays the giant beige eggs (think it cracked?) The black ones could be Mostin's corton blue mix, think some of the other chicks she has from a corton blue mixed with something else are black? Whatever they are they are mightily cute!! I really hope you can get a green egg layer out of them!!
Omletina Kyckling
Has number 9 got wonky toes on one foot? Freja, my green egg laying columbine has wonky toes on one of her feet!
chick wiggle
They really are all ultra cute, can you see how i got confused with them all, i wasnt expecting black chicks you and Mostin will have to come down soon and see them

Plum
DNA paternity testing? All very cute you are going to have lots of arguments over them. Sorry about the others.
Redwing
Having played with the genetics calculator quite a bit I can venture that the default colour for most crosses is black so that chick could be almost anything. The obvious exception being Buff Sussex! The calculator is here: http://kippenjungle.nl/kruising.html select 'help pick colour from a list' unless you want to be hopelessly lost
