Leicester_H
Hi I'm sitting in my office feeling so guilty Its raining VERY heaviliy and my girls look like drowned rats. They are in their run and could go into the eglu if they wanted but they're just standing there making woo woo noises !! (they do this often to remind me that its not fair to keep them locked in the run !!) Can they come to any harm if they get soaked ? Reassurance and/or advice for a newbie please Thanks, H
Snowy
Let them out! Mine are out foraging right now, looking like drowned rats - but loads of slugs and worms to hunt for! They're having a ball! I'll put them back in the run about 4pm though (the run has a shower curtain over it) to give them chance to dry off before bed. Although they'll probably still stand in the wet part. theherd123
Im sure they will be fine, wet and soggy but fine You could invest in a clear shower curtain to place over the run when the weather is bad and this will keep them protected from the elements, still enable you to see them and the light will get through too - everyones a winner! Hen Watch
Mine are soggy at the moment. They are shut out of their run at the moment as they keep attacking the new hen we got yesterday. So she's in the run at the moment. My other 3 are very soggy and when it really pours they hide under the patio table (where I've put a 2nd feeding station). But they've still been dashing about in the rain today unfazed.

Ditto! If they were out in the wild they'd get wet and I like them to have as "natural" a life as possible...without putting them on a plate for Monsieur Reynard. Snowy
I give up. They are SO wet It's hammering down out there and the idiots look to be getting a bit water logged. So I've sent them into their run. And I know Bella's laid in the garden somewhere - am I going to look for it? They had to paddle across the patio to get to the back door, it's at least an inch deep. Anything for food though. And poor Fizz is having a really bad hair day!
Christian
Aw bless Snowy! Look at the state of Fizz! That is so funny! I'm in Stuttgart at the moment and its 26C and sunny! My girls are at home in the run, probably pecking at the rain drops!
