oldbird
Has anyone had a chook whose ear lobes have started to get white patch on them? She seems fine - foraging, eating and laying well. Is this just a pigmentation thing that sometimes happens or is it something to worry about? Any ideas? Old Bird

Chickybaby
Mine have the white on their ear lobes too, have never worried about it though, but would be interested to know exactly what it is.
percy049
Our bluebelle has a white/blue earlobe. I suspect this is probably because she's part leghorn somewhere!
oldbird
Thanks for replies - I thought it was probably nothing to worry about as she seems so well & happy. Expect I am being an over anxious chicken mummy!
Redwing
White colouration is common on red earlobes - a fault in the show pen but perfectly ok otherwise If the skin is raised/flakey and dry that could signal a problem
tracyann
My hens have white earlobes, and on closer inspection they look like tiny feathers.
