nikkichick
Some of the girls discovered football today, something we use for an anti boredom device! I think the score is 2-1 to Tikka (Rhode Island Red) Edited March 12, 2011 by Guest

Sam
We had Chook Rugby earlier! Casper found a piece of bread (which was intended for the wild birds...) and they were dashing about the place fighting for it! Hilarious to watch!
j00lz_12366
ive just bought one of those balls for my cats-or it looks like the same thing-with a spiral in the middle...theyre totally uninterested-cleo occasionally eats something thats dropped out of it, but she seems to think whatever it was just so happened to be under the ball...she is VERY special.. Plum
Mine had a treatball and fell out big time. Really saw the evil side of my girls Great idea though for well behaved chickens

Henergy
That looks like alot of fun. I found something on ebay last night which is specially for chooks and you fill it with grain or similar & it drops out as they play !
chickanne
The contrast between flock behaviour of telling everybody else everything v "it'd mine!" is one of the most endearing thing about chicken behaviour! If you can swallow it one go - good! - else be prepared to repel borders.... Why else are we out feeding them sweetcorn treats at 7am?? nikkichick
OMG....... The OH comes in from work on thursday and i ask where the treat ball is. He says it's in the run, i say no it's not. Friday, i'm spreading the woodchip all over, moving it checking under the coop, in the coop, in the run, around the run. Today i'm in the run on my hands and knees while the girls give me a look of 'What are you doing?' scratching around on my hands an knees! Treat ball, (aka chook ball) Has disappeared!!! OH put it in thursday morning and by the time i got home (4:45) it had gone. Girls were shut in run all day with it, but it is no where to be seen!!! Could they have eaten it? It was pretty solid and there's no fragment and the girls aren't ill.... It's mind boggling, not to mention impossibly frustrating? Have your girls burgled me to have a ball of their own?
