Eggstravaganza
Having had a pretty grotty journey home from work I immediately trundled out into the garden to ask the Spice Girls how their day had been. As I opened the side of the Eglu I let out an amazed OMG!!! There nestled in the egg box was our first egg. Now I fully admit I have probably been rather too over excited about this and I'm not sure all my friends and family appreciated photos of the said egg pinging up on their mobiles as much as me - but it was our first egg!!! I have no idea who it belonged to - but the money is on either Ginger or Scary! It is quite pale and very very speckly but it is perfect! I was quite sad not to have been here when one of them started shouting "look what I did, look what I did" but I'm hoping I get plenty more chances to hear that. Now my question? My husband is keen to try out the new egg but it is best to leave them a day or two????

jennym
Yay, lucky you! Did you weigh it? I think I'm going to keep an egg journal (OH = ) Still waiting for our first (3 hybrid POLs arrived on 21/5/11). I'm betting on some time this weekend
Eggstravaganza
I have just weighed it. It is only small - about 2/3rds of the size of a normal medium shop bought egg. It weighs 1oz - bless it! I can't wait for my husband to get home so we can see if it's as perfect inside as it is out. Think we may have to share a fried egg sandwich! gongladosh
It's even better when you can identify which girl laid it, as you can then thank the hen every day (yes, I do!) I reckon it was laid by Scary or Sporty.

Purplemaniacs
Yay, lucky you! Did you weigh it? I think I'm going to keep an egg journal (OH = ) Still waiting for our first (3 hybrid POLs arrived on 21/5/11). I'm betting on some time this weekend I weigh mine and keep of a record of who layed them, a bit sad I know but it is interesting, our ex batts have laid 115 eggs since we got them at the end of March, which is great as only Agnes and Annie lay, poor Agatha just goes in the nest box for a while and comes out. In total we have had 2904 eggs First eggs are so special how did you eat it? We fried our first one so that we could all have a little.
