Bramble
I'm puzzled Why are people prepared to pay more for something on ebay than they could buy the same thing for, new? I've been watching a cube extension on ebay, bidding is now up to £103, yet the same thing, new, is 'only' £100 from Omlet I've also noticed there are funshades on there for £12.99 plus p&p, some of which are only £6 or £12, depending on colour, from Omlet. Am I missing something?
Ain't Nobody Here
It is odd, isn't it . I can only think people enjoy the thrill of the chase and the win so are prepared to pay more than it's worth . It is quite exciting when you win something .
Bramble
There's still 3 days to go on bidding for the Cube extension, I dread to think what it will finally go for!
Geoid
People get into bidding wars, some will keep bidding even if it is over the RRP, they are determined to win!
fluffy chick
I agree. I think some people assume ebay is cheap and are too lazy to look around for prices
Bramble
Just noticed, said extension is back down to £70, presumably higher bidders have realised what they are actually bidding for and withdrawn their bids?
fluffy chick
I once sold a lovely monsoon dress, said it was new with tags and the price was£60 on the tag. It sold for 63 plus postage buyer was pleased with it though.

But that's slightly different-they may have really wanted that dress and may have gone to several shops to try and get one in their size to find it had sold out everywhere. Unlike the Cube extensions, which can be bought easily and aren't out of stock.
poppy ben grace
I agree, i looked on ebay for a second hand eglu but decided in the end to pay a bit more and get a new one, at least then you know what your getting!
Redwing
I guess once you have added on the delivery cost on to an Eglu and factored in the waiting time I guess I can see why they go for what they do sometimes
fluffy chick
true, but I'd rather have a new one for an extra £50 or so. Good to know mine will sell on though. Can't have it both ways
daxigirl
I know I was watching and wondering about that run and the shades and some glug/grubs. Bizarre. I said about it when I was furtively ebaying at work but because it was chicken related they all just shrugged and rolled their eyes at me. Come to think about it they did the same when I got excited after I found some Mary-Jane style steel toecap shoes to order, guess that's what you get for being on a team of fellas. billathome65
It's like any auction people get carried away. Wish people would get carried away when I put stuff up on the bay.
