poppy ben grace
Bless you. I am sure everything will work out in the end. Easy for me to say i know! Just focus on the wonderful new life you are going to have in your new home! It sounds like paradise to me. I love norfolk, what a change from the big smoke, you must be over the moon. I bet the chooks will love it. PS could the packers dismantle the cube? keep the tea flowing and lots of biscuits to keep them happy! craftyhunnypie
Deep breath & breeeeeaaathe! Try & keep calm, everything will fall into place. This time next year you'll look back & laugh. It all seems so daunting & you'll be in panic mode ( I am too). But just take everything as it comes & think that by Xmas you'll be loving you new life! Good luck & enjoy every minute! Chicken shack
Over 100 boxes packed yesterday that that does not include boxes I have packed and the shedsssssssssss and garage.
craftyhunnypie
Only a 100? Blimey..I dread to think how many our house will take. We are using a big big cattle trailer to move - plus got the 2 caravans, 2 trailers, the cherry picker, the 3 cars, the 33 chickens..all the eglus & cube - before we can even think about our other stuff. Omletina Kyckling
When I moved I didn't dismantle the Cube.....it was lifted in and out of the van and then lifted down into its place. Even the attached run was kept as much together as possible. Don't know if you'll be able to do that or not though, but just made everything so much easier this end as could get it all together in a short time and chooks set up. We took off various panels to carry it down to the garden I seem to remember, roof, back, sides, but the main part was left together with wheels on etc.
Tutti Frutti
Good luck, last sleep tonight! My tip for the cube would be - if you take it apart, refit the screws into the holes so you don't lose them - yup, the voice of experience
craftyhunnypie
If anything like me - your heart will be beating fifty to the dozen & your tummy churning. Mines started already & I've got 10 days to go! I guess it's a mix of emotions - mainly excitement! Make sure you eat properly - keep your energy up! All the best with the move! Chicken shack
Hi everyone, well we moved in Wednesday I will post a few picture but I can't find the computer monitor. It is in one of the many boxes yet to be unpacked. My new home looks like an image from the programe 'Horders'. I am round my sister useing hers at the moment. I have one cat in hiding, the other appears confused but interested. The girls have settled in well. I had to dismantle the cube as the lorry was full to bursting point. The garden is amazing, I feel like the luckiest person in the world at the moment. Good luck craftyhoneypot let us know how you get on. Mercedes55
Congratulations on the move. I'm so envious of all of you that have the courage to move away from somewhere familiar. OH and I would love to downsize and move to the coast. We don't have a mortgage and OH will be 59 next month and is fed up of the daily grind. We spend hours on Rightmove looking at houses we would love to buy. Latest one we have fallen in love with is down in Rustington in West Sussex, but have no idea what it's like to live there, but it does look very pretty. Take the ball by the horn and go and visit this house you have seen. We found ours on Rightmove and had no idea what the village would be like. It is heaven on earth for us. OH is 62 and had a heart attack about 6 years ago. I am a little younger . OH still lived 1 mile from where he was born and I never thought he would move. Is it a man thing perhaps as my OH was born around the corner from where we currently live and has never moved from this side of the town, never mind to a whole different part of the country. I on the other hand was born and brought up by the seaside in Lincolnshire and have lived in a few different places.
