I had some tears today. My dad is still alive, but only seems to be interested in his other daughter ' my sister'. I have nothing to interest him ( no children). I haven't seen him since March as there are issues that he needs to address, but won't & until he does I will stay away for my own sanity. It's very very sad, but I can say no more.

My hubby is daddy to 33 chooks & a sweet cat - we have had a lovely luxurious day.

Oh Egluntyne...what a lovely idea; a pity I came across it a day late.

Nevertheless,

I think of my Dad every day, every day something special or good happens. He died in 1972 and he didn't see me qualify, marry (though that's probably just as well  ) and he never met his beautiful talented grand daughter. My mother is still in mourning...........dreadful for her.

So here he is in his RAF WW2 uniform

He was 25 and had just escaped from Poland where he was an officer in the Polish Air Force

That's such a lovely idea, and great photos of all of your respective fathers. I will be better prepared next year!

This Sunday was the first Father's Day without my darling Dad who died last September aged 80..we took some flowers to his grave in the churchyard where he was christened, and, as usual, the sun came out just as we got there - haven't had to visit in the rain yet!! hugs to all of you who have lost a loved one, and , I am sure like me, feel like they have lost a bit of themselves xxxxx

I found this on a friend's FB status.......I think it will ring true with a lot of you who have a lost daddy......

For Fathers Day. Roses in Heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Dads arms & tell him there from me. Tell him that I love him & when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon his cheek then hold him for a while. Remembering him is easy, I do it every day, missing him is the heartache that will never go away. For all the Dads in Heaven ♥
