After enjoying the Danish version, we thought we'd give the US one a go. It looks like it might be good although it's a bit odd knowing in advance what's going to happen even though all the actors and locations are different.

 

Anyone else see it?

I saw three quarters of it last week, and then we had a power cut. I tried watching again on the channel 4 player wotsit, but I hadn't the patience to sit through all the bits I had seen already, and couldn't fathom out a way of 'fast forwarding'.

 

Looked promising. I hadn't realised it was based on the Danish programme.

It does indeed .

 

It's odd to watch because most of it is very faithful to the Danish original but then there'll be something small that's different.

 

Not sure if it spoils it or not, knowing who "dunnit" right from the start .

I really enjoyed it as could never stay awake for the Danish one, subtitles made me sleepy Apparently the jumper became a cult must have

I started watching this last week. Hubby watched it and loved it. Not seen the Danish one, but was aware it was on. Made me very sad last week though but looking forward to finding out who dunnit

Just noticed that last weeks episode is showing again late tonight on channel 4. Have sky plussed it, so that I can skim past the bits I have already seen.

It feels like watching a film after reading the book, it's good though I'm enjoying it. Wonder if they will change the ending!?!

I read that they have changed the ending - not sure whether that means they've changed the killer though...

Yes, they have changed the killer and the motives too. I loved the Danish version, but am very happy to make do with the US version until Forbrydlesden 2 comes along ....!

I've only just worked out that the mother in The Killing is scary Mary Ann from True Blood .

Just finished the Danish version...wow, I loved it. I have seen the first episode of the US version and didn't think it was as atmospheric as the Danish version which is beautifully put together. I thought the US version spelled everything out whereas the other Danish one left it more to the acting and direction. I did only watch one though.

She is uber cool in the Danish version. The whole thing is very slow and atmospheric. Best thing on TV for a while I think.

Danish version is starting again in a couple of weeks for 20weeks so right through to new year. I'm waiting for the next series, I thought that was going to be in the autumn *stamps feet*

21st August on BBC4. It appears to run daily from Sundays to Thursdays then has 2 days off.

Am loving the original version. Am madly comparing and contrasting it to the Seattle one. All I can say is that it is the same, only different.....and 'darker'.

Watched both endings last night.

 

The Danish one was streets ahead in the end I thought. Absolutely gripping from the off. Not sure about those jumpers though. The Seattle one was very good, but compared less favourably with the original, and the ending was nowhere near as explosive.

 

Can't wait for Part Deux.

I loved the danish version but couldn't stay awake to watch it every night. A couple of weeks ago I wasn't too good and stuck at home. OH rented the box set for me Brilliant. Now that I know the US version is slightly different, I am hoping to watch that next.

drove myself mad watching both until the US episode about her son going missing... lost patience with it. The Danish version miles ahead and absolutely gripping!
