JanTheDiver
Chickens don't often get cold, they are very warm creatures and therefore are more likely to overheat than get cold. Mine love to be out in the rain except when it is exceptionally heavy; I often see them steam drying once they get back into the cube. I have come to the conclusion if a chicken doesn't like the rain it won't be out in it
blueandwhite
Mine seem quite happy in the rain, Ebay always looks like a drowned rat but Phoebe seems a bit more 'waterproof'. I do dry them off before they go in the eglu at night but only when it is cold. Probably no need for me to do this, but I feel sorry for them! mollyripkim
Two of my silkies don,t worry about the rain so get wet whereas the other three are more sensible and take shelter. It's never seem to have done them any harm although I have been known to dry them with a paper towel! It's surprising though as they look like drowned rats but it'd only really the top layer that's wet, underneath they are still dry.

Julia W
My girls don't seem to mind the rain, in fact I thought they must be a sandwich short of a picnic because they have been standing out in it even though they have plenty of cover..... AlisonH
Mine don't seem to worry about the rain when they FR but huddle up when in the run - I bought an eglu transparent cover for the run for the winter -ha ha- and when it was throwing it down the other day I got it out. they took a while to realise that they would be dry under it and there was quite a lot of noise from the rain but it kept the chippings underneath really dry and it provides plenty of light. Not cheap but worth it - I only hope it lasts.
Alis girls
Mine looked depressed - they just huddle in the pod of the Go. They do FR - can you get macs for chucks?
