Henergy
When the cube arrived I also had delivered a bag of the Omlet free range feed to try. The bag seemed quite robust so (stupidly) I left it on the garage floor for a week while I used up the older pellets. Went to open it today & find that the mice have beaten me to it ! Is it still ok to use this feed or will the hens get some nasty disease from it ? Edited August 8, 2011 by Guest
Redwing
I'd still use it personally but would decant the bag and dispose of the bottom couple of inches and the bag
LolaLayla
I am sure my girls food must be being contaminated by mice too. We have mice in the garden and I have seen them nip into the run and jump up into the grub get some food and whizz out again. The girls have not spotted them yet! I recently wormed the girls and wondered if that would kill the mice or if they would be healthier It does bother me a bit that the food will undoubted be contaminated as I believe they are renowned dribblers

Valkyrie
On the brighter side I have heard it said that if you have mice then you haven't got rats - much rather it be that way round than rats and no mice! We have had wood mice here ever since we moved in some 19 years ago. They disappeared a couple of times when rats moved into neighbouring properties, but came back once the rats had gone. But it's the wild birds that sneak in during the day - mainly robins and blackbirds. Any mice stupid enough to be out in the day are promptly dealt with by my maran! Ewwwwww!
