MissMoo
I recently had my Cuckoo Maran go broody, so I bought so pre fertilised eggs to put underneath her as I had no Cockerel. Now I have 4 happy little chicks running around but was unsure on if I need to vaccinate them or not?? Any advice on this would be much appreciated as this is the 1st time i have reared baby chicks Thanks Donna x
chicken bark
Congratulations on the hatch - photos please. (I must get round to posting photos of my 3 baby chicks too. ) Don't worry about vaccinating them - it is only viable financially if you were hatching big time. What breed did she hatch? Lewis
Congratulations If you are just raising them for you, as long as they are kept clean + healthy you don't need to worry about vaccinations. They come in 1000 doses and need to be used within an hour so you couldn't share with someone and the number of vaccines they need would make it really expensive for such a few chicks. MissMoo
Hope this link works. The little yellow chick is the one i'm not sure on the breed??? http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g353/Donna_Johns/DSC02477.jpg
chicken bark
I don't know what breed the yellow chick is - it could be something Salmon coloured and if so it looks female to me. (just a guess though as Salmon coloured ones can be sexed by colouring). They look happy and healthy.
