Family legacies

Recommended Posts

I discovered a while ago that my dad's uncle was well known in Japan but was having another look on the internet today after discussing family trees etc with a colleague and this time found a preview of a book including a photograph of him 8) .

He had a hill named after him and there is still an area in Kobe known as Jamesyama (my maiden name was James).

*Ernest William James*

I'm going to print it off and read it to my dad (who is almost 91 and in a nursing home) as I don't think he had any idea there was info about his family on the internet.

I had no idea Ernest was awarded an OBE before reading that link. My grandad (Fred) is also mentioned in the book 8) .

I'd quite like to buy the book (it would make a nice present for my dad's 91st birthday, even if he can no longer read). I've found a copy but it's in Australia and the P&P is more than the cost of the book  .

I had a look on Abe Books and searched on the ISBN 9780642276513. It reckoned there was a UK seller who had one in stock, and offered free delivery. Worth a go?
