Ain't Nobody Here
I discovered a while ago that my dad's uncle was well known in Japan but was having another look on the internet today after discussing family trees etc with a colleague and this time found a preview of a book including a photograph of him . He had a hill named after him and there is still an area in Kobe known as Jamesyama (my maiden name was James). *Ernest William James* I'm going to print it off and read it to my dad (who is almost 91 and in a nursing home) as I don't think he had any idea there was info about his family on the internet. Ain't Nobody Here
I had no idea Ernest was awarded an OBE before reading that link. My grandad (Fred) is also mentioned in the book . I'd quite like to buy the book (it would make a nice present for my dad's 91st birthday, even if he can no longer read). I've found a copy but it's in Australia and the P&P is more than the cost of the book .
Seagazer
How fantastic, it would be great for your Dad to have.
WitchHazel
How lovely! Don't forget that an Aussie Dollar is only about 65p. T When thinking about whether or not to buy it, forget that the postage is separate,. Look at the total price, convert to GBP, and see whether it feels worth it. majorbloodnock
I'd quite like to buy the book (it would make a nice present for my dad's 91st birthday, even if he can no longer read). I've found a copy but it's in Australia and the P&P is more than the cost of the book . I had a look on Abe Books and searched on the ISBN 9780642276513. It reckoned there was a UK seller who had one in stock, and offered free delivery. Worth a go?
Ain't Nobody Here
Major, you are a star . I've bought it . It might be coming from the USA (the price is shown in $) but it's still a good bit cheaper than the Australian one. Thank you .
