stehaggan
1) My poorly chicken passed away (RIP Little one).. 2) I went out with some friends and whilst walking home from town i was ringing the OH, next thing some hoodie hit the back of my neck and swiped my phone out of my hand. No damage to me... i gave him a good chase for about a mile or so but i was wearing pumps, it was 4am and id been drinking since 7pm, and i am no budding athlete so needless to say he got away Probably my own stupid fault for using it at that time of the morning really but well i just never imagined that would happen to me! So now I have had all the hassle of cancelling everything, putting in a claim on my house insurance and now I am without a phone until they sort it. Oh and the joys of a police interview tomorrow! Eugh! Thinking back though i am glad i didn't catch him because I thought to myself what a mess I could of got into if i had caught him - and its only a phone and it can be replaced! So just be weary people if out late and using your phone! This has happened to a few of my friends over the past few months :-S And if anyone has an iphone there is a new app which allows it to be tracked called "find my iphone" - just wish someone had told me about it earlier lol
Space Chick
I'm sorry that this happened to you Ste, and it is not your fault... You should be able to use your phone whenever and should be safe to walk around anytime.... Evil people that make this a danger really make my blood boil OH installed the Find my IPhone app onto both our iPhones and my iPad.. It's really cool actually as I can track OHs phone and he can track me Really handy to work out when they are due home (as long as you trust your OH that is One woman suspected her OH was cheating and tracked him to find he was spending lots of time at a certain house ) Hope the police interview goes well, and you are right phones can be replaced, but you cannot. I'm so glad you were not hurt xxxx
stehaggan
Haha thats a good storie about the woman lol.. I never knew the tracker existed until today! I cancelled the phone etc, rang the insurance company so im sure they will replace it with either the 3gs or newer i dont know but then when i went into my account my contractor provider said i am actually due and upgrade TODAY as it is 2 years today I have had it lol So maybe I will get 2 phones out of this lol we shall see But ill be putting the tracker on it when i get it and its going on the ipad now you have reminded me! thanks x
Chucky Mama
Sorry to hear your news A friend had their iPhone 'stolen' (by someone they knew but they claim not to have it ) They had the tracking thing enabled but said that when they phoned to report the phone stolen and it was cancelled the tracking gets switched off I don't know how true that is and whether that can be avoided. Lavenders_Blue
A friend had his iPhone stolen a couple of days ago and had the tracker installed on it. Although he was able to show where his phone was, using the tracker, the Police informed him that they cannot knock on doors or search houses for the phone as the tracker does not constitute sufficient evidence to take out a search warrant (seems a bit odd!). Which begs the question... what is the point of it? (Apart from checking up on where OHs are )
Geoid
Which begs the question... what is the point of it? (Apart from checking up on where OHs are ) Might be handy if you keep on losing it, or find out who has taken it and send the 'boys' round for a 'chat'..... kazmac
What a terrible thing to happen to you, It's a deplorable way for a human being to behave and I hope he gets what's coming to him one day - my preference would be as above, with him receiving a visit from someone's 'boys' I hope your neck's okay. And I hope the police interview goes okay too.
Happy-Mama
What an awful thing to happen, would agree it is always best to let the phone, handbag etc go as they are replaceable and you aren't. Am glad you are ok and hope you get your new phone sorted quickly.
