donald
Have seen a bed set in M&S but everyone keeps telling me to wait for the sales? Any M&S fans who know if its easy to order bedding from M&S in Sales on line? or when they are likely to have their after xmas sale? Its probably easier for me to order on line due to using petrol etc to get to our local stores. Thank you.
Egluntyne
The trouble with waiting for the sales is that the item you have set your heart on may have already gone before the sales start. If you really like it, get it when you see it. I've missed out on things I like once too often because I have waited for the sales.
CatieB
My common trick is to buy now the item you like, then keep it unopened with the receipt as the return date will be in the new year. Then if you manage to get it in the sale you can return the full price item .

Sale starts Boxing day,( yep they are actually opening for the first time) but if really desperate go on line just after midnight of Christmas Day/Boxingday morning. Hope you can get what you want, I'll be in bed.

Then if you manage to get it in the sale you can return the full price item . I think the M&S I go to must be getting fed up with me. I've bought quite a number of things for myself and for my granddaughter at full price, only to see them a couple of weeks later being advertised with 25% off. It seems to be a common theme with M&S at the moment, the other day it was nightwear and lingerie. I took all the stuff back that I paid full price for, but checked first that I could still get them online with the 25% discount. I also bought next years Christmas cards, wrapping paper, crackers and some pretty candles all at 50% with a store pick up, so no delivery costs either. I have returned things bought before Christmas that are then in the sales and only received the current price when returning them.
Cinnamon
If you have a receipt to prove that it was bought before the reduction, they have to refund you that price,or exchange to that value - that is the law. If you do not have the receipt, they only have to give you the reduced price

Good reason to hang onto receipts I guess
Cinnamon
..........which I am REALLY bad at Had a tussle with Tesco last week over a cardi which is all coming undone but never worn. Cinnamon
They do if it is in the terms & conditions. Places like M&S & larger stares give a refund with a receipt as a goodwill gesture & cannot not do this if the receipt is provided. Most stores have a 'return with 28 days in saleable condition, with a receipt for a full refund' policy.

No receipt of course,& they wouldn't swap it for me,or give a credit note I think I'd suggest that it's not for for purpose and threaten with Trading Standards. I had a not dis-similar situation with Te$co and printer cartridges which were faulty; they wouldn't refund or exchange even though I had the receipt as it was more than 3 months after I bought them (I'd had them in stock) luckily, a friend who works there pitched up and sorted it for me. Anyhow... I digress
Cinnamon
Yeah, tried that. The woman dealing with me (' I have worked here for 15 years...') took an obvious dislike to me. The Waitrose uniform I was wearing may have been part of it..... No worries - I phoned their customer services when I got home, got her into trouble & got a £15 giftcard for my complaint. The cardi will go onto eBay in the New Year.
chuckmum6
Be warned that M&S online is very poor, it doesn't matter how early you place your order, there is no guarantee that you will get the stuff. I have NEVER recieved a full order, M&S online sales are rubbish!
donald
Thank you, I have never used M&S on line but keep looking for the sale for the bedlinen I like! I went to London Colney and Brookfield they both had one single but I need two! As I think I will always find something nice in M&S I am going to take a chance and see if the sales come up trumps. I will let you know what happens. Apart from Next I dont think the sales are genuine on the whole like they were years ago....we are so spoiled with offers and sales all year round. I remember watching those people queue up all night in London to ie buy TVs etc etc Funny
MummyHen
I buy from M&S online all the time as their Big & Tall range for men is only available online - I have to say I have never had any problems with delivery or if the item is wrong size or colour taking it back to my nearest M&S to get a refund; brilliant in my opinion.
