Guest
No you're right Fleata. My brother has that version on video and we can't find it on DVD at all. He loves it too. Pirates was the first G+S I performed in (I was Mabel!) and I love it and know all the words.
Sheilaz
Oh yes, we've not even started on G.& S! Love them all, although I haven't seen that film version. I shall be singing whilst cooking now; ensures I have the kitchen to myself Gina, its such a remote possibility, after all its only the back of a male head and very popular female clothes & hairstyle.(My mother looked just like the Queen at that age, which later confused me!) But they did leap out at me in the photo, so I'll show my parents next week when they visit! Wouldn't it be funny. If it was a later year, it wouldn't be as they would have had babies & children with them.
Mrs Frugal
YES!!!! We've got that in the car and we all love it! Fab stuff!! Richard Burton narrating it is enough for me without all the cracking music too!!
Popcorn
How bizarre. I just borrwoed the CD from my Dad last weekend. We're going to see the stage production, so wanted to brush up on it

Popcorn
What do you think the stage production will be like? I am half tempted... I love anything live Dan; music, plays, comedy etc........so I'm optomistic about it. Could go one of two ways though There's no accounting for taste, so I say go and see it

The Dogmother
My fave too. Got the CD about a year ago (just to hear Richard Burton) and have been playing it ever since. Went to see the fireworks at Himley Hall in Dudley on Saturday, and they were all done to War of the Worlds - FAB!
Mrs Frugal
Oh cool !!!
The Dogmother
It was really fab Kate - Rosie's little friend had a birthday party, then they had got a VIP rook at Himley Hall, so we coudl wait in the warm until the fireworks started - went round the funfair. Fireworks were tremendous, and they had lasers coming from an enormous model of a tripod, luckily it stopped raining for about an hour The kids had a slepover and didn't get to sleep until 1am, so R is very tired this morning despite an early night last night! The Dogmother
Yup, it took ages to get out, but it was well worth it. The sound system was great and the effects really made up for having cold feet. Is that anywhere near you?
The Dogmother
I hadn't realised that we were that close to you. We were visiting freinds in Oldswinford. There were certainly loads of people there, especially at the funfair. It was dark, so difficult to tell exactly how many.
Mrs Frugal
Wasn't built by the same builders who did this estate, was it? Looks familiar!
The Dogmother
No, but we went past it and they told us about it - nice to see a picture Dan. You'll have to come down to the 'local' omleteers get-together on saturday @ 11.30am, near banbury, let me know if you can come and I'll send directions.
