PurpleTree
It's been a day much like any other, to be honest Hubby bought me some tulips on Friday, which were from the children. This morning the youngest was awake by 6am, then eldest came running in with the present he made in school - a clay love spoon painted silver Then I and the 2 oldest went to church, where I saw my mum and gave her card & pressie. Came home with some daffs & assorted leaves that were given out in church. That's been about it apart from a walk to the park this afternoon, trying to tire the boys out. mollyripkim
Yesterday we went to the isle of white to put flowers on MIL grave which was very sad but had a lovely meal out with parents and daughter today and my lovely daughter helped me clean my pond out! A really messy job that we were in fits of laughing as I freak at the frogs jumping around. In my card she had put from the chicken girls, sorry they couldn't get their own card but they don't take corn in payment in Clintons! The Dogmother
I had everyone at home today . . all in my bed by 8am! Three silver Trollbeads, one from each child, Coco Chanel perfume and chocs:) OH gave me a Trollbead coffee table book with a coffee bean bead to thank me for being the mother of our children! Ahhh:) I have felt very spoiled. All meals cooked for me, a nice cycle with a friend and dd2 helped me to clean out the hens. A wonderful day! Blimey! You hit the jackpot! I got some flowers Phi is up for the weekend and bought them on behalf of him and Rosie - madam gave them to me on Sunday morning Can anyone else not believe that the clocks go forward next weekend? How did we get that far into the year? I'm looking forward to it though - enough light for lovely long dog walks of an evening.*sighs*

chickencam
OH & DS were up at 6am watching the Grand Prix, then I was presented with cereal and a croissant, by my 3 lovely teenagers. I was given a multipack of Cadbury's Double Deckers by YD 13, requested by me, I don't eat a lot of chocolate, but they are an occasional guilty pleasure, a book selected from the recommended section in Waterstones by DS 15, he has really made an effort the past couple of years and three packs os summer bulbs by ED 18 who had to walk miles to get them because she got off the bus at the wrong stop for the garden centre OH then went back to sleep until midday, I think that he was having a little sulk that it wasn't fathers day, he asked me when my breakfast arrived, why I hadn't ordered bacon and he wasn't happy that he only got a cup of tea, but the children did offer to go and make him something, but he had a little sulk instead, although he did then make me a bacon muffin for my lunch and cooked what had been prepared by the children in the evening. we had roast beef and yorkshire puds, I am ashamed and proud at the same time that YD makes better yorkies than I do. YD forgot to make my rice pudding which was a bit disappointing, although I was pretty full, poor girl was in tears and I had to convince her that I didn't really mind. It will be a lesson to her to do something when you are asked rather than leaving it until later. OH told her to mix up the rice pudding when she made the yorkshire batter, but she 'Oh no I'll do it later' which is her answer to a lot of things at the moment. All in all a good quiet day, I managed to read almost half of the book that DS bought for me, it is called The Pink Hotel and so far it is very good. Griffin
My eldest daughter Daisy ensured I didn't enjoy the day, despite the efforts of the younger three Georgia made two cards, one at school and one at her French club, Molly bought a card and all four signed one that Mr Griffin got for them. Emily gave me a bar of chocolate, which I paid for inadvertantly last week I'd given her some money to buy stamps, she used the change for the chocolate! Mr Griffin cooked a lovely dinner. I hadn't seen Daisy all morning, Georgia the youngest was upset by this so dragged Daisy out of her bedroom. Daisy grunted at me before disappearing again Her attitude really upset me, Mr Griffin found me in tears so he had words with her. She came downstairs and mumbled "Happy Mothers Day" with a sullen expression. She needn't of bothered. She hasn't said anything else since. Oh the joys of teenagers. Mr Griffin suggested we all stay in bed until at least lunch time on her birthday and barely say two words to her but I'm not that cruel
Chickvic
Teenagers are a breed apart aren't they? My DD (14) has been really good over the weekend. Their dad was at work and I've been ill so she has helped out loads and even cooked a proper Sunday roast yesterday with some supervision. Son (12 and very hormonal!) made me a cup of tea to start the day and when I asked him for another, he looked straight at me and said "I've already made you one!" He's only just 12 as well DD is usually miserable/moping/grunts in my direction cos I'm either the evillest mother ever or I'm great cos she can do what she wants...I don't remember being like this! chickencam
My YD is very Jekell & Hyde, she can be lovely funny company, or moody beyond belief, luckily yesterday was a good day, but there was a fair amount of bickering with her sister over silly things like who was moving a mug from the lounge to the kitchen
