chickencam
oops I seem to have lost the power of the English language with a week off the forum We have never had purple sprouting so good. I gave the chooks some leaves today and they looked at me as if to say 'what do you think we are, pigeons?'
Charlottechicken
Today I've picked.... and two tiny, hairy parsnips - the leaves look wonderful...... just not much underneath them! I've picked about a hundred of those today! After cleaning them up there was not much more than a heaped handful Like you say Lesley, the tops were impressive just not much underneath
chickencam
They usually start to grow again at this time of year as do carrots and then go woody and go to seed.

Lesley
Strawberries! I could see three strawberries on Friday so made a note that we need to put the netting on the fruit cage - we hadn't got around to it...... As there were only three, I bought 4 large punnets from the Farmers' Market - only to find that we actually had a good couple of pounds of ripe strawberries hiding All the rain seems to have done them good
