Sitting outside earlier eating a cheese sandwich with some radishes from the garden, with a dusty cat on my knee, reading my book, in the SUNSHINE . I was only there for about 20 minutes, but oh what bliss.

I was going to say that I could slap you, but the sun has arrived at last after days of overcast skies and cold drizzle it's finally here.

Believe me, we've had our fair share of rain, no hint of a hosepipe ban here.

 

Which is why I've done loads of washing yesterday and today and tonight 2 double duvets have been washed ready to be line dried tomorrow.

I've just been upstairs sorting the laundry so that I can get a load in overnight and then out on the line in the morning. If it's lovely tomorrow I'll hang both the duvets over the line to air as well.

Toast of homemade bread with lots of seeds in it, topped with Lurpak and Princes Sardine & Tomato fish past... dunno when I last had that paste but I'd forgotten how delicious it is... I also have the undivided attention of two lurchers they're not allowed to beg but that doesn't seem to include the RSPCA eyes thing.

Watching baby starlings doing test flights from the cherry tree a few doors away, round and over our garden and then back. Noisy but lovely to see.

Princes Sardine & Tomato fish past... dunno when I last had that paste but I'd forgotten how delicious it is.

 

I nearly bought some of that yesterday! Love sardine and tomato paste Quite like the chicken and ham one, but not as much.

Hearing a cuckoo yesterday evening whilst walking the dogs in a sunny meadow. Can't remember when I last heard one.

The sun is out, the sky is blue ... and I have decided to make the time to go home and have lunch in the garden with my girls pecking around. Bliss .. shame I have to go back to work.

 

I am also looking forward to around 3pm today, as by that time DS's last AS paper will be finished. I am sooo looking forward to evicting the grumpy adolescent that has been occupying DS's bedroom and replacing him with my real son who is normally great company. I have tomorrow afternoon free and we have planned to spend the afternoon together doing very little except working our way through a pile of DVDs, a chocolate cake and a bowl of popcorn

Being able to dry washing within an hour or two is a real pleasure instead of having it hanging around the house for ages. I have been madly stripping beds today.

I've just had a lovely lunch break taking in some sun; had to whizz to the post office then legged it home for lunch and 5 mins in the garden, hanging out the washing... it really is very hot out there

Seeing butterflies in the garden now we have better weather. Lots of Holly Blue types around soooo pretty. x

Walking my 2 dogs with my OH on the beach early this morning. Beautiful blue sky, light breeze, tide out so dogs could splash in the rockpools, stunning white cliffs behind us, no crowds.

 

Whever I have been away, doesn't matter how exotic, i always breathe a sigh of relief when I can see the South Downs again.

 

My grown up daughters being happy and healthy.

 

My sister is off to San Diego, Hawaii and Honolulu on Monday - one of many holidays. I honestly wouldn't swap what I have (which is not a lot materially) for what she has (which is an awful lot having just sold a vast penthouse flat on the Thames for an obscene amount of money)
