pips_pekins
Sitting in bed with a cup of tea and chicken magazine. I can't remember when I last did this but house is quiet, dog is fed, chickens are done. DS still asleep, OH is messing with his bike before going out so I have crept back up to bed before anyone notices and then my day won't be my own . angeluk69
It's a beautiful morning, I've been awake since 5, and reading the forum with a coffee...the doors are all open, the birds are singing and everyone else is still asleep
Purplemaniacs
I love first thing in the morning when all is quiet and as P P says dogs and chickens sorted it is a very special time of day. However at the moment I use that time for OU study although a week on Thursday it will be finished at least for a few months as that is the day the submit button has to have been pressed, 3000 words I have 2600 but are they the correct ones Yesteday was lovely we went for a walk at Rutland Water in the morning before it got busy and then spent some time sorting out the eglu and run ready for the little bantams when they are big enough to go outside and then did some much needed work on the garden Chrissie
Space Chick
OH is still asleep Chicks are sorted out, hens have been checked and I'm having an apple juice and watching the squirrels in the tree. Cats are nowhere to be seen, they are probably enjoying the sunshine down the woods Need to wake OH in a bit though as he has to go down his parents to trim a tree of theirs which is getting out of hand I'm planning to bake a cake.... Make a batch of curry sauce.... And spend the rest of the day knitting really feel I need a lazy Sunday
chickencam
Sitting in bed reading the forum waiting for my breakfast, I heard one of my children up so was hoping for breakfast in bed, but still waiting half an hour later, may have to have a bath and get my own. We are off to watch Cheltenham Town in their playoff semi final first leg. Aiming for promotion to league 1. Kick off 12 noon. Fingers crossed. majorbloodnock
Easy to start such a list, but difficult to stop, I find. Here's a few to be getting on with. A few hours spent browsing the back rooms of a second-hand book shop. Listening to children laugh A long soak in a hot bath Finding where all those single socks have been hiding all this time.* A bowl of home made soup in front of a warm fire on a rainy, windy, cold Sunday afternoon. Especially if I've just come back from a walk in said cold wind and rain. A bacon and egg sandwich. Cake. Any. The sound of the cork as it finally lets go of the wine bottle. The subsequent glass of wine. The smell of freshly baked bread. Standing in the allotment eating peas straight from the pod. Watching the children blackberry picking. Pooh sticks. *Purely hypothetical; I haven't achieved that one yet.
Looney
No such thing as a lie-in in our house. 5am starts (sometimes earlier ) every morning but one of my little pleasures is me, OH and Bogwoppits (age 16 months and 4 years) all sat in bed eating biscuits, drinking cups of tea/water and chatting/reading stories/watching cartoons Not so keen on the crumb filled bed mind you! Gertie
Laying in bed with the window open feeling like I'm in the pine tree (bedroom window looks right into the branches), watching the Goldcrests hopping about catching bugs...with a latte of course! Will have to wait til next Saturday for that pleasure! Oh, and saying goodbye to the inlaws after 10 days (argh)!

The Dogmother
*sighs* I had an unusually blissful Saturday morning.... walked the dogs in the woodland at the National Herb Centre - organically managed woodland and pastures near us - watched the abundant fauna, neither of the dogs managed to roll in fox poo. The ate a wonderful cooked breakfast of local ingredients whilst sat in the sun overlooking the most wonderful view over 3 counties... the stuff of dreams. chickencam
Yesterday evening, hoeing my onion patch at the allotment in the warm evening sunshine, our allotment is in a beautiful spot, quite a large flat site surrounded by trees, with a beautiful hill and escarpment as a backdrop. The blue sky always seems particularly big there and it is peaceful when the children at the next door school have gone home and there is no football on the adjacent field. Bliss Meanwhile OH was doing battle with the grass paths and anything with grass on it that he could get his ancient lawnmower to cut, he was being rather noisy, but it was quite funny to watch until the lawnmower said no more and had to wheeled the long way back to the shed. bluekarin
After all my efforts of planting bulbs, to finally see, after nearly a month I think, the first few fronds of anemones popping up woohoo! But I wholeheartedly agree to the cork popping, glass being poured *slurp* And freshly baked bread Another recent simple pleasure was sitting quietly in the garden, in the sunshine, on my swing seat looking at just how much it has changed over the years, and feeling quietly proud all my efforts have come to something. dancing cloud
A large glass of chilled sauvignon blanc in the sunshine, watching the chooks enjoying their new home, or a large cup of filtered coffee in the morning, with Cleo-cat purring as she sleeps on my hand (she has a thing about wanting a hand or an arm to sleep on, bless her )

bluekarin
Actually making something you have re-pinned on Pinterest In my case, putting a hole into the bottom of some cheap plastic cups from that T place we all know and hate and using them as lampshades to replace the worn shades on my garden lights We now appear to get more light through these shades than we ever did with the old ones. Plus, if I get bored with them, it's only the cost of some plastic cups and not a whole new set of lights
craftyhunnypie
A pan of butterbeans ( Greek Style) gently simmering on the Rayburn for nearly 2 hours. Very satisfying. Although makes me feel like a witch. Hubble Bubble! 5 little chickies causing mayhem in the brooder - ahhhhh The thought of a nice car journey tomorrow to see my family & a Christening to attend on Sunday. Wearing my new tunic dress. Plus the joy I'll get from giving presents! I love giving prezzies! Emma.x
