Duncan08
Had a lovely afternoon in the bit of sunshine that we had yesterday, painting some old ceramic garden animals. An otter, duck, hedgehog and rabbit. I added them to the girls outdoor play area to make it a little more interesting than soil with craters and hills of more soil, occasionally turning to mud. Well they are terrified, and went to hide at the top of the hill, I shook some mealworms to get them into the WIR last night as i had to go out, 3 of them made it Bluebell came charging in later, and poor Pepper was stuck in a corner shouting her head off, the more I shook the meal worms the more she shouted - she then launched herself across the run in a flappy shouty way. If they don't settle down today I will have to find new homes for them (the recyled ceramics, not the girls, mind you they don't make so much mess )
The Dogmother
They'll get used to them, sprinkle some mealworms near the 'invaders'. I had men on my roof doing work in the chimney the other day; the chooks spent all day shouting at this enormous 'bird of prey' from the safety of their run
angeluk69
I asked my son (11 yrs old) to hang the remaining half of a cabbage up for the girls, he gladly went and very promptly came back proclaiming 'Mum I don't think they want it, they just shouted and flapped at me!' So i told him to leave it for now and that i'd pop it in later. I then told him he could give them some mealworms and he came back again very quickly and shouted at me 'MUM!!!! I think they were shouting at me because they didnt want a stupid cabbage they wanted worms!! They still shouted at me, but came charging at me instead this time!!' Kids and Chooks are a funny combination
