Leicester_H
We only have standard freeview. I was just watching the FINAL of the volleyball between Russia and Brazil - great stuff. Sets/games(best of 5) were taking approx 30 mins - got to start of 4th game, so I popped into garden to do something quickly, planning to return for end of 4th game. On my return, BBC had switched to waffle about basketball (not even a game). They must have expected the volleyball final to go the full time - so why cut it off half way through ? (its not even like Team GB are in the basketball final) - better to see out the volleyball and then join the basketball midway, so people can see the exciting end play. This is not the first time they have cut off mid event like this - not good enough (in my view!) H
patsylabrador
I have to say I thought their coverage was very good. We just have freeview too but I've seen everything I wanted to, if they changed the channel a sport was on they told you where to go. Sometimes I had three events on at once, the online coverage meant I could just watch cycling for example while they waffled on the TV. Loads of info on the website, the interviews were often repetitive and boring though and often intrusive. I've been quite satisfied generally though. I don't like artistic events like sync swimming so I was able to ignore those and just watch what interested me. Interested to see what channel 4 do with the Paralympics. cyclonetog
I think the coverage has been very complete, and as a result has been very sporadic. Must be a logistical nightmare to do, but I've definitely missed things I wanted to see because they've flitted about so much.
Geoid
Press the red button if you want to see the other sports.
Leicester_H
Press the red button if you want to see the other sports. Not if you only have freeview ! I agree coverage was good (on the whole) - just annoying when they leave a gold medal event half way through (for no apparently good reason). Snowy
we only have freeview, but we still have a red button Hazel. Can't really comment on the coverage though - we only really watched the things that were well covered.
Groovychook
We only have freeview too and no problems with the red button here I think the BBC did a great job. I think we're so lucky to have access to such extensive coverage without the irritation of advertising breaks! I listened to a lot on the radio too and thought it was fab

Thought BBC was fantastic. The only person who really irritated me was the bloke doing the interviews track side - thought he was bad, and then I saw him trying to interview the Mens Marathon winner - I was cringing behind the cushions! I was at home for the whole thing, as recuperating from an Operation - (timing was perfect!!) and don't think I missed anything I wanted to see, and learnt a lot about sports I knew nothing about before. Just had a problen on Saturday night wanting to watch he athletics and the diving at the same time!
chicken bark
I thought the BBC did great coverage. My only gripes were coverage of the road cycling but that was due to the technical side not working. I also got fed up of Gary Linekar who I normally like. He seems to think he has to be funny whereas I want to listen to the person being interviewed. Loved the channel for everything approach (or red button), got to see almost everything I had planned to.
Ain't Nobody Here
We watched the Olympics in New York over a 5 day period. The number and frequency of adverts was horrendous (mainly for Chevy, "Chevy runs deep" apparently ). It was a blessed relief to come back to the BBC coverage .
