Luvachicken Posted August 21, 2012 Share Posted August 21, 2012 (edited) Well, I did mean to buy just nutri drops for Heidi and some more rabbit and chicken food from Rokers. But when we got there, they had done up their chicken bit and in a little pen were some lovely pekin bantam chicks.... So we looked them over and bought what we intended to. Then we went back to the chicks and bought 2 It wasn't quite what I had in mind but they were sweet. And hubby said I could have one to replace Penny so I said I'd have to get 2 They are about 13 weeks old ( I just hope they are girls ) and are in a hamster cage at the moment. What I want to do is introduce them to the chicks I have already and then introduce all of them to my original 2 another time. How long do I need to keep the new chicks seperate from the other chicks ? Is it 2 weeks ? Pics to come soon. I hope I haven't made a mistake. My poorly, Heidi, is in my lounge at the moment in the 'hospital wing' ( dog crate ) so no where near any of the other chicks. I described the same one twice One is golden brown with black specks and the other is darker brown with sooty markings. chuckmum6 Posted August 22, 2012 Share Posted August 22, 2012 They look like girlies to me, I have Pekin banties, which my broody hatched out, they are around 9wks now, the boys from the hatch were dispatched at 5 wks. You should be able to tell them with reasonable confidence now. I did think they were small for 13 weeks, any idea how old they might be ? I should have paid more attention to size as my others were growing up But then I wasn't really intending to get any more.
