My new nutri drops chicks - now with pics !!

Recommended Posts

Well, I did mean to buy just nutri drops for Heidi and some more rabbit and chicken food from Rokers.

But when we got there, they had done up their chicken bit and in a little pen were some lovely pekin bantam chicks....

So we looked them over and bought what we intended to.

Then we went back to the chicks and bought 2

It wasn't quite what I had in mind but they were sweet.

And hubby said I could have one to replace Penny so I said I'd have to get 2

They are about 13 weeks old ( I just hope they are girls ) and are in a hamster cage at the moment.

What I want to do is introduce them to the chicks I have already and then introduce all of them to my original 2 another time.

How long do I need to keep the new chicks seperate from the other chicks ? Is it 2 weeks ?

Pics to come soon. I hope I haven't made a mistake.

They sound cute :) what colour are they? I can't help with introducing them but I would leave it till your poorly is getting better if possible

One is golden with black specks and the other looks a bit like a girl pheasant.

My poorly, Heidi, is in my lounge at the moment in the 'hospital wing' ( dog crate ) so no where near any of the other chicks.

I'm hoping she is on the road to recovery as she has eaten something this afternoon.

They look like girlies to me, I have Pekin banties, which my broody hatched out, they are around 9wks now, the boys from the hatch were dispatched at 5 wks. You should be able to tell them with reasonable confidence now. Pretty girls you have there, mine are lavender and black ones and rather sweet - even OH thinks so too :o
