Lesley
I hate the word Santa.... but couldn't resist these for littlies to make...... 1 lb large strawberries 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 3-4 Tablespoons icing sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Sesame seeds for eyes (black seeds I presume) Cut the top off the strawberries ready for the hats. Scoop the middles out of the rest of the strawberries. Mix together the cheese, sugar and vanilla until creamy and put the mix into a piping bag. Fill the strawberries with the cheesecake mixture, top with the 'hats' and add the seeds as eyes. Add piped buttons and bobble on top of the hat. Refrigerate if not serving immediately. I think I might make some small digestive biscuits for them to sit on - they'll taste even more like strawberry cheesecakes then!

kinsk
saw these on Sunday Brunch at the weekend, they looked very cute. I am sure they used black onion seeds for the eyes, don't suppose it really matters, whatever little black seed is available.
bluekarin
They look lovely! I am sure you could use poppy seeds for eyes as I am not sure how well onion seeds would go with strawberry (despite what the chap on Masterchef the Professionals though last night )

Lavenders_Blue
They are fab! Am I allowed to be a bah humbug though and say strawberries aren't exactly a seasonal Christmas fruit?! (Still tempted to have a go though).

(Still tempted to have a go though). Yes, you're allowed I quite agree. It's the one time of the year when I buy quite a bit of unseasonal fruit though - I love a big fruit platter to counteract all the rich food...... through the year we mostly eat fruit we've grown and we did still have strawberries growing in November....but not now .
