The USB keyboard shold be ok Kev - all our consultants use them because laptop keybaords aren't brilliant and if they're doing any amount of typing it's back for their wrists and posture (sorry, H&S hat on there)

 

My typing problems are usually down to being too tired or a useless typist!

I have managed to borrow a usb keyboard from the IT dept at work, so we are back in business until we can get the laptop repaired.

horrrayyyyyyy, I can type again,

 

without having to hammer on the keys in the middle of the keyboard, and also feel like there is a weird ghost like thing in the middle of the room hitting the m key.

the original keyboard does not want to be over ruled and has developed a sticky key thing!! it wants to add a zero or a h at every opportunity it just took me ten minutes to log on.

 

Is there anyway I can disable the onboard keyboard and force it to use the usb one?

You might be able to go into the bios and do it, but I have a feeling thats not possible on a laptop.........Have a look, just dont change too much ( or you might cause issues )
