Porridge in the snow!

Thought you might like to see this pic of Mr Darcy and his girls demolishing their corn-sprinkled porridge to warm them up - still lots of snow up here in Shropshire. They seem to have got used to it now and venture out quite happily in single file along the little path I've dug out into the garden!

Thanks folks! Yes, I must admit I'm still smitten with my Mr D. He's a lovely gentle character and very protective of his women!!

The girl on the right is an owlbeard, Shabby Chic. According to Andy Cawthray (www.chickenstreet.co.uk) who I got her from, she's a chamois owlbeard, which is one of the oldest and rarest breeds and colourings. She's been a lovely and attractive addition to the garden - full of beans, extremely tame and friendly, is a good layer and is number one girl with Mr D! :D

Thanks for kind replies - will forward your comments to Mr Darcy!!

Blueandwhite - I bought both the hardwearing green cover and the transparent one from Omlet and managed to rig them up so that the inside of their classic run is completely dry. Has been useful in the awful winter we've had - and the transparent one does obviously provide light. However, now the snow's clearing, they're not spending much time in there at the moment as they wander out behind our shed and out into the garden for most of the day. Hope the pic is clear enough... :)
