Guest
My bank manager is grumpy enough after I splashed out on the Eglu - not sure he's going to appreciate all the lovely treats that are appearing here in time for Christmas! He may ban me from the website completely.........
PurpleHen
Have sent the newsletter to my Mum with instructions to "note the great doormat". Let's hope the hint works

Sheilaz
I have actually been looking for a chicken theme doormat, how timely! The builders ruined a couple of ours & threw them in the skip Which means that I need a new one or 2! I'll order it so that "someone" can give it to me for Christmas! I love it, partly because its great, & partly because all my family will go which is a good sport!
motherhen
I've still got some money left over from my birthday presents - so I've just ordered one (and a couple of other things while I was in the shop )
Guest
(Crooked Chicken here). I soooooooooooooo want one of these, but once you add postage, it takes it to over £30 !!!!! I can't do it. I just can't. Just been to Homebase to stock up on some woodchip (got a potential Eglu buyer visiting me on Sunday - so want the run to look its best) and took a quick look at mats there. They start from £2.99 and go up to about £10. So £30 is a tad too expensive I think - however much I want one.
Sheilaz
Although it is more than I was thinking of spending on a necessity such as a doormat, I'm talking myself into it! Firstly, it looks good quality so should last a long time. Secondly, its going to be a luxury Christmas present for me, rather than a household expense. Thirdly, I'll put it where no one can actually wipe their feet on it to make it last 10 times longer. Fourthly, I must order some Citricidal anyway, so I'll have paid the postage! I love this lateral thinking.

The Dogmother
Sheila - I wish I'd known that you wanted them - I could've picked them up from Omlet and brought them along tomorrow to save you the postage Oh well, another time
Popcorn
That's what presents are all about Sheila. Receiving something you absoloutly adore, which you wouldn't dream of buying for yourself under normal 'non present' circumstances. I think the enjoyment you'll get out of it will be worth more than the cost anyway.... Can anyone lend me a tenner
Lesley
Thirdly, I'll put it where no one can actually wipe their feet on it to make it last 10 times longer. Why is it that men think they can wipe their feet on the mat? Why can't they just take their feet off like any normal person? (I read your comment without my reading glasses on and thought it said 'men' - it doesn't but i'll still leave what I've said )
Sheilaz
That's super clever....you read what I'd thought but not typed
Lesley
I'm always shouting "don't step on the mat" to the men in my life and they always look so bewildered - poor things, they just don't know the rules
