The Dogmother
The Boy and I went to the Global Gathering - 2 day event at Long Marston Airfield (you might have heard it Lesley!) this summer - absolutely fantastic event, with so much going on and loads of great music. The toilets were total pits; I went to the loo, and when I came out Phil had been swallowed up by the crowd and I couldn't see him! Some lads hoisted me up on their shoulders to see if I could see him, and I surfed over to him! WE plan to go again next year.
Mrs Frugal
Nothing at all! I loved it too - it was the Monsters of Rock that I was about. Being amongst all those hairy, greasy, long haired, leather clad blokes setting fire to the tyres around the edge of the race track - quite an experience and worthy of a or two!! Popcorn
hee hee... pants, pants, pants Just going off topic for a second Did you see Trinny and Susannah last night? they did The Men! It was fab. They got the daughter of the one fella to take a pair of scissors to his leather trousers. They were pretty dreadful, and he LOVED them! I wonder when they last had a wash - ugh! Popcorn
Well, the men were rather on ther large, sweaty side, so I hope they had showers everyday.....no, I meant the trousers. They looked really baggy round the knees and bum area....

Clare, we can hear it - if the wind is in the right direction we don't need to pay .....and the town is gridlocked ........and, for the second time we had tickets for the Theatre ...and the town is gridlocked ......................... The Dogmother
You poor things Lesley! We realy loved it, but I can imagine that if it isn't your type of music and you aresubjected to it for 2 whole days, it must really get on your nerves:roll:
Lesley
Not so much the music - just the sheer volume of people and traffic
Lesley
I'm glad someone else saw this side of things Dan - awful isn't it. Locals just lock up everything they own and stay away from the town. (unless you've booked tickets at the Theatre of course - we were taking 3 elderly American relatives ) Bad planning by both of us!
