doctors girls
Lost my second hen today after losing rose on the 11th may sj passed away today she was ok when I went to work this morning but on returning home she was just laid at the door of the wir she was just over 3 years old the same as rose as they came from the same flock and seem to have the same symptoms as each other they became very large birds and were unsteady on there legs the only problem now is that I am down to 1 hen and it will be at least 5 or 6 weeks before I can get any more due to holidays and new hens would be a struggle for my chicken sitter

Nelmel
Sorry for your loss - I don't know the history but I was in a similar situation - lost two on the same day and had one alone who was miserable. I contemplated rehoming her just so she wouldn't be alone but in the end I rehomed two instead to bring my number back to 3. Having said that, the lady I buy wood chip off had one lone chicken for 3 months and all was ok. Is your hen upset at being alone?
