The Dogmother
I saw that in The Mail today - sponsored by an egg producer. Some of mine are brighter than others. I think that WitchHazel once clicker trained one of her chooks.

The Dogmother
Mind you, I guess it depends on where the toddlers come from... the youngsters round here could probably break into cars!
soapdragon
My toddlers never managed to lay eggs; QED.

Lara and Frey
Too soon to comment. I have a 3 year old and have just today got my first 3 hens. The hens had picked up that I was not threat and that mealworms were tasty and therefore worth eating from my hand after only 2 hours of getting them home so that's pretty bright and they come clucking when they want more lol. I'll report back when they're a bit more settled. Some of the toddlers at my sons nursery though I'd say are definitely not as smart as a hen. I guess it depends on the toddler and the hen. gongladosh
hens are more manipulative...
chuckmum6
Not my dumb clucks! They have a certain degree of food driven cunning, but aren't that bright, last night I watched three broodies trying to get into a closed Eglu through the air holes at the front .
