[Ain't Nobody Here]

There's a race up this hill next Wednesday which my boys all do. I've been determined to do a race with them all for ages so naturally I picked an easy one .

 

Did a recce today with YS - road running from the harbour then a slog uphill, a scary descent then downhill through the town to the end. I wanted to see if I could do it faster than the slowest people in last year's race - I did . Just .

I saw this great picture on facebook yesterday, it said "7 minute mile or 14 minute mile - its still a mile! and a mile further than someone who didnt start"

 

well done - you know you can do it, so you just need to try and beat your pb

Was hoping you'd all forgotten about this .

 

Having turned the calendar to August, I was reminded that I've got a dinner out that night so can't do the race after all .

 

Still plan to do one sometime soon though so watch this space .

In the meantime, we did a family birthday run up this . The boys were all a speck on the horizon whilst I slogged up at a snail's pace .

I did my first hill race tonight . It was a downhill race starting at the top of the photo in my post above.

 

I came last . My boys came 1st and 2nd though, which brought up the family average . I won a massive Toblerone (they won 2 bottles of beer and a family size bag of crisps so I think I did the best ).

 

A welcome distraction from the very sad news that a pupil in my class died this morning .

Thanks . Especially proud of my boys as YS won the 'Get a Grip' 3-race Downhill Series and they both got the 2nd and 3rd fastest times ever for this race!
