Luvachicken
Last year Lucie, my buff Plymouth rock, was broody for just one day Yesterday she tried again. Gemma, one of my pekins, had already laid her egg so I took it and then Lucie decided to lay one. I went to check on her because she had been laying for a while. I found her egg in one corner of the egg port and she was nestled right down in the other corner having decorated herself with aubiose . She even growled at me when I went to touch her. A few hours later she was back to her normal self. Quickest bout of broodiness - shame she can't teach the others how to do it so quickly. daxigirl
Bless her. Love it when they do the straw tossing thing. Yet as chicks they absolutely detest anything on them, like when you tease them by dropping bits of bedding on them, they can't pick it off quick enough. (Oh is it just me that does that ). A bit like having given them a cuddle for them to get down and rub all the human off
