liz.dudley
Sorry another question from a newbie! I put worming powder in with their corn along with some poultry spice, but they seems to be turning their noses up at it! What should I do? Previous owner said Henrietta didn't do well with pellets (so I'm feeding layers mash instead).
gavclojak
I would use worming powder mixed with their feed and nothing else....no treats...no free ranging....nothing for the whole week. I assume your using flubenvet? if you are not using the pellets then I would mix up a weeks worth of food with the flubenvet, I would start by adding a cup of food to the wormer, giving it a really good mix, then adding another cup of feed, every time you need to mix it really well. I know its hard not to give them treats but they really need to be wormed effectively
Valkyrie
I mix a week's worth of food in with the Flubenvet, but I don't add any spice until the week after their worming session. I also mix a week's worth of corn with Flubenvet. They do not get any treats but I still allow them to free range. They may turn their noses up initially but when nothing else is forthcoming they just get on with it and you know they are eating it because you have to keep topping their feeder up. Sometimes I have to mix up more pellets. Good luck. Edited to add that the corn is only given at tea time as per usual.

Redwing
They will eat it- you just need to have more will power than they have! Hens don't starve themselves to death don't panic
