Solitary chicken - need advice

The mum of a child I work with at school gave me a lovely present yesterday.

She had been showing me some hats and scarves she had made doing crochet.

They were beautiful.

I told her I wanted to learn to crochet.

Later, when she picked up her child, she produced a bag and told me to hold out my hand.

She placed a crochet hook, a ball of wool, some instructions and some web sites to look at in my hand.

 

Such a lovely gift and such a lovely Mum.

I just hope I can learn to make something to show her.

That was really sweet of her, some people are really nice.

I was happy too as hit a pothole and shredded a tyre on my car, AA changed the tyre but had warning light on dash, garage thought the knock had damaged a sensor. Anyway they sorted it and didn't charge me which I thought was lovely espeically as they had to sort the tracking out as well.

It makes the world a better place knowing that there are some nice people out there.

Crochet is really rewarding to do, some lovely colour yarns

I agree Plum, I have fallen back in love with crocheting. I am enjoying making a scarf at the moment for DD's boyfriend for Christmas, bright orange as that is his favourite colour. He once said he hated knitted things so he has never received a knitted present from me so I hope he likes the crocheted one

Yes DD told him he would live to regret saying that, so the last few Christmases everyone else has had a knitted scarf or something and he hasn't. He has said he feels left out to DD but she simply says I told you so

 

It will be interesting to see what he thinks of my orange creation.

Oh how kind!

 

One of my colleagues asked me for a lesson in crochetting. We have parent-teacher evenings next week. Means a bit of hanging around for some. Perfect time for some crochetting!

I'm hoping to have a go once all the Christmas rush is over and I might have 5 minutes peace.
