SallymaySteven
Well today has been an eventful day for Maggie. She Has laid her first egg. It was so exciting can't believe it. Don't think she could either with the noise she made. She is looking a lot better and a lot healthier she has put on some weight and has got her colour back. She's a lovelly deep red now and her comb is looking better too. Her coop and run have been set up and she is loving scratching my grass up lol. So today we went and got her a friend. Helga. (My husband named her as we are going to move to germany in a year or so) Helga is an amber light and is just beautiful. She is very shy and Maggie is definatly the boss in that coop. Won't let Helga near me and doesn't want to share her food. Maggie doesnt share food. If I ever figure out how to put pictures on I will share. redsunset
Lovely story and you got another one! Maggie sure landed in the right house there Now you have to tell your husband that Germany may have to be postponed as you have 'girls' to think about
redsunset
P.s. That last post was light hearted humour, please take it as so I'm sure if you move a good home will be found for the girlies if you still have them they have a way of getting under your skin, do chooks, as I have found to my consternation !! dancing cloud
No reason why the girlies can't go to Germany as well ...
Beantree
Up to five can be exported as pets, which the vet can arrange quite simply. Of course that may need to be done for the reverse trip as well because I don't know how long the paperwork is good for. Six to 19 go as a domestic flock which needs a European Export vet to arrange and is a complex and expensive process. The paperwork is only good for the outward journey on the day of travel. So yes it can be done Sally and is going to be much simpler if you have only two hens. It just needs some very careful planning.
WitchHazel
Would be worth having 2 feeders, set some distance apart. Maggie can't control both at once that way. Well done on Helga!
