Lewis
I've been trying to eat more healthily the past year and Cauliflower rice has my new favourite thing to replace carbs. I've seen lots of posts online recently of people using a spiral cutter/Spiralizer to make courgette spaghetti, carrot noodles etc. Does anyone have one and have any good recipe ideas? The 'proper' ones are about £25 online but I got a smaller handheld version for about £3 on ebay - thought it was worth a try!
Bramble
I've been looking at this myself too! Haven't tried it myself, but friends of mine have recently bought a Zoodle Chef which is the same sort of thing and they rave about it - about £15 online, I think. Let us know what your research yields!
Daphne
I was given one of those in the picture for Xmas as I have been on a hunt for many years to find a gadget which makes celeriac remoulade (ie the thin ribbons). We tried it on a carrot and ended up with badly grated looking carrot Its not too bad on a thick end of a carrot, but once you get to a thinner bit it just doesn't work, plus you are left with a carrot 'core' which isn't much use. It may well be user error, but I really don't like it and its on its way to the charity shop. In fact, earlier this week I found myself using it as a makeshift holder for an incense stick
kinsk
I use one of these for courgette spaghetti http://www.lakeland.co.uk/15806/SharpPeel-Julienne-Peeler I also use it on carrots to put in salads, noodles etc. Anyone else always read it as courgetti spaghetti? Lewis
I've tried mine out a couple times with courgette and it's great! I kind of stir fry the noodles with curry powder for a few minutes, no oil or liquid and they taste really nice and have a good texture. Definitely recommend getting one for £3, especially as it makes me eat veg I'd never normally eat
CatieB
Can we have a link please Lewis. It might become the new must have item especially at that price
Grandmashazzie
I got the Zoodle Chef but think it's a bit fiddly to use.I wish I had gone for the Lakeland one it looks better.
Lewis
This is the one I bought, Spiral Cutter Vegetable Spiralizer Very similar to the Zoodle Chef but a fraction of the price, I thought it couldn't be simpler to use
Egluntyne
I bought a Spiralizer from Lakeland earlier this week. So far I have made courgette 'noodles' with pesto and Parmesan. It was VERY nice indeed. I just microwaved the courgette 'noodles' and stirred pesto and grated Parmesan into it.
chickencam
One may have just fallen into my basket, shame that it won't arrive until mid March because the seller is away, but cheap as chips or maybe noodles It should help with the courgette glut this year
