Lesley
not egg! - just pre chewed food - isn't that what they sell at M&S? Food for people who can't be bothered to chew Actually - they do have some nice things at M&S food halls, but I fell out with them years ago when they stocked organic fruit and veg for a very short time but then stopped because they couldn't get everything in a uniform size and shape - and some of it was even.............slightly dirty

The Dogmother
She doesn't really cook - only does food that comes out of the freezer and into a microwave or can be emptied straight out of a Waitrose carrier bag. I was trying to convert her to organic food (which she thinks just means vegetables), but she said that it is dirty! No wonder both her children are hyper and permanently poorly. We try to eat as healthily as we can to suit our situation and purse, without being fanatical about it. We have some treats, but Rosie knows what is healthy and what is not,a nd also where her food comes from and how to cook. I feel sory for some children these days, who won't have those skills/knowledge to pass on.
Louise
I had to teach myself to cook as my mum bless her could do the food my dad eats but little else and when I got married my husband would have lived on a lump of meat and a pile of veg So I learned to cook and now I am quite good I even taught my mum to make proper gravy That ad I keep hearing about family time and how they will eat sausage, mash and proper gravy made with bisto granules makes my blood boil
Cate in NZ
What upsets me is that some people really believe that Bisto is proper gravy, rather than a lazy person's shortcut.
Sheilaz
.... I even taught my mum to make proper gravy ..quote]Oh, Louise, my gravy varies a lot, do you think you could post exact instructions in "recipes", please? Mine's OK but I can't recapture the yummy one that my Grandma used to make. I'd like to try yours! This may sound off topic (don't think I hadn't noticed you lot) but I guess I'm allowed to on a thread that I started! Meanwhile, I need to make things without eggs! (Back on topic!) 2 eggs today, trails of feathers everywhere, no new nest.
Lera
Shouldn't this poll have 'they haven't started laying yet' as an option?
Happymama
Mine haven't moulted yet, maybe next year - they were quite late chooks. They are still plugging one a day each for 6 days a week, and have a history of laying in the garden. We've stopped the holes up behind the rambling periwinkle with DS's garden toys. Seems to have put them off.
Sheilaz
Shouldn't this poll have 'they haven't started laying yet' as an option? Hi Lera, I started it as a lighthearted one really, but the title was correct, as it's referring specifically to my chooks. Five of mine have been laying for a while, only the sixth is POL. So, what's happened to approx 35 eggs a week! There have been a few red herrings along the way, so its just a bit of fun for everyone to guess. Although, it doesn't help if you haven't seen my garden. I haven't blocked their previous nests (but I like your idea Happymama) as there are always worse places! Did you both answer the poll? Louise
Will post the method (its not really a recipe as such) later Sheila I have a busy morning but if I forget send me a nag via PM so we don't go off topic again
