Of teeth and Greek gods

Recommended Posts

On Friday night the back of one of my teeth fell off. I was eating popcorn at the time so that was annoying, I think it would have been more appropriate if I'd been eating very hard toffee. The broken tooth didn't bother me, I have the sort of teeth that do that on a fairly regular basis. I thought I'd wait and get a midweek appointment, but the tooth edge was serrated and slowly started to saw into the underside of my tongue, I didn't realise that an ulcer had already developed and the pain was excruciating, how did people cope with having their tongues cut out?

It got so bad that I started to feel a bit feverish and a migraine started. OH likes to get things sorted and found a 24hr dental clinic in Baker Street, where 130 minutes and £160 later I was a much happier person. It was a lot of money but we found free parking- I hope!!!!!

That was where I met my Greek God, just a shame he was half my age and drilling out my tooth. He told me to try and get hold of squid ink for the ulcer which has some amazing properties and he didn't believe in adding more chemicals.

I was listening to his conversation and he believes in the healing properties of natural oils which is interesting as I've been using oils for my skin care for years and I think he is correct about that.

Anyway I'm going to check out squid ink and find out what it's good for.

Ouchies!

Having just very badly burnt the roof of my mouth & throat, I feel your pain....I can hardly sleep it is so sore.

I too have been using facial oils for years & think they are fantastic, although many people think I am mad than a mad thing slapping oil onto my face

Glad that it all turned out well in the end Jude. Teeth falling out is one of my recurring nightmares :anxious:

For those of you with sore moths, try homoeopathic teething granules; they worked wonders when Rosie was little. Either Teetha by Nelsons, or Boots own brand (made by Nelsons, but cheaper), both available form Boots, and very good indeed.

Euukkkkkhhhh, hats of to you for bravery! I really have horrible nightmares about teeth falling out and nearly passed out (quite literally) when my veneer fell off. CAN'T cope with anything dental but have had a few massive ops with no worries so you are very brave!

Do hope that all is resolved now.....I often think its silly that we think we know how to cure everything with chemical stuff when Mother Nature has been around much longer and often knows better  And what a bonus to have a lovely chap helping out too....EXTRA icing on the cake!!!!
