Free standing cooker search is over - new one coming!

Recommended Posts

I am looking at replacing my worn out cooker with a Stoves 600e, or if I am lucky in the Black Friday sales, the 600ei version.

Does anyone have one of these, and if so, what do they think of it? I have read mostly good results, but as our last cooker is cheap Creda and was less than half the price of this one, I just want to be sure. The only reason I want to replace this one would be if I get my dream proper range cooker :)

If you do have one, and don't think much of it, and have a different one you would recommend I'd love to hear of those too. Thank you :)

I am still on the lookout for a new free standing cooker. I have seen a Belling 90e which is beautiful, but there seem to be a lot of bad stuff on their FB with regards to their costumer service, so am a bit wary. Plus we don't really have the space for one, even if Currys have the most amazing deal on right now! *sobs*

Soooo..... Looking at their 60e version which is also lovely, but I can't find a single review! I am guessing its an old model? Does anyone here have one?

Or, does anyone have a cooker they'd recommend? As long as its electric with ceramic hob and freestanding, I am open to suggestions :) Thank you :D

Hi,

We have our own kitchen business, so have just asked OH.

Belling, Stoves and New World are all made in the same factory a bit like Neff, Bosch and Siemens.

They all have three price points and are as follows

New World - lower spec

Belling - mid range

Stoves - higher end

OH has just suggested to look at AEG or Zanussi ( both made in same factory). Both good quality.

I have just looked at the curry's deal for the Belling and it is a good price as we can not buy at trade for that price.

Hope this helps.

Ursula

I bought a new built in oven from John Lewis, excellent customer service. Ordered it on a Monday evening and it was delivered the same week. The delivery chap even phoned 15 mins before he arrived to make sure we were poised for its arrival.

We had a minor problem with the oven and they sent an engineer a couple of days later.

We've had our Belling for years. I think it's around 20 now! Only had one issue with one of the ovens and the guy that came to fix it said they don't make them like this any more because it's built like a tank (it's a range)! I guess with the wear and tear over the years it isn't quite up to the mark now and I have to adjust cooking temperatures and times - although for an old timer I hope it will last at least another year until we move.

Next house we are looking into Rayburns!

Sadly there is good and bad in all makes.

We have a free standing belling which has been in our rental property for 12 years with no problems, one of the tenants a chef said it was one of the best ovens he had used.

The oven I have at the moment is great but is a replacement as the first one had a fault - when you switched it on nothing happened and then when you turned it off, it got so hot you could not touch it. Funnily enough they exchanged it within a day maybe the thought of someone getting burnt or a fire made them act so quickly.

So, we have a new cooker coming tomorrow. I have gone for a Belling FSE60MFi in stainless steel for the bargain price of £579 with free delivery, take away and recycle of old one and take away the packaging. Seems most people are happy with this one from their reviews, so I hope we will be too. Old one is now outside (after a bit of a scrub down. How does all that get down that tiny gap! Unless its just mine  ) Delivery booked between 12-2pm and considering I only ordered it today, I think thats pretty good. We have bought it from Marks Electrical, and I can't find anything bad about them, so fingers crossed.
