I noticed a fushia and lobelia in flower in the garden today, crazy weather.

 

 

Ooer, I will have a look at mine tomorrow and see if there are any flowers on them.

We had lobelia and geraniums in flower until the cold spell last week, they are now deceased .

We have another daffodil out and there is a whole row of them in a garden down the road. Our Kerria's are in full bloom too.

Still have the perennial wallflower in full bloom. Methinks it will need a mega feed! But I'm glad because it's providing much yumminess for the bees. Not seen any flutterbies just yet but I know they also feed on that plant.

 

Have to say it's been the longest flowering season for daffies. I still have some to flower yet - non-stop colour in the garden. Been brilliant!

I was very pleased to see that a lot of the daffodils have only just flowered recently.

I was worried everything would be finished before any insects were ready.

We have had flowers on the geraniums at work all winter, they look very tatty but I am hoping that a feed and prune will bring them back . Just noticed that our hanging basket fuscias have survived too and are sprouting lovely new growth.

I checked my fuschias but there is no growth on them yet

I thought I had killed the fushia my next door neighbour gave me but this morning I noticed two little leaves, although I have lost a rose this winter that my stepson gave me last year - possibly drown with all the rain!

roses are pretty hardy so I doubt it was down to the rain if it was a potted one then it could have been vine weevil but if it was one of the one that have the small flowers on like the ones from the supermarkets normally in a square pot then you have to go some to get them to live once the get planted out as most are just 'rooted' cutting that are grown basically as a short lived house plant in a hot house so that they are just about in flower when they get to the retail outlet the temperature shock is normally what do's for them

It was from the local garden centre and a beautiful hybrid tea. Roses are my passion and I have more than I care to admit OH dreads the David Austin catalogue and emails as he knows there will be deliveries! Been very good so far this year and only bought about 7 but it's my birthday this week so when people have asked what I want, it's always the same reply " a rose please"

One of my big fuchsias is sprouting nicely - trouble is it's outgrown it's space so I need to move it! Another one is just shooting at the base. It's all beginning to race along now.

Fuscias grow well from cuttings. I have a sentimental attachment to an old hardy one which was nearly destroyed when my old cat had a fight with the neighbourhood bully many years ago . I have several smaller ones grown from cuttings of the original which is still going strong.

We bought two unusual veriagated fuscias last autumn which we planted in hanging baskets and we thought that they had been seen off by the frost but they are sprouting again .
