Snowy
That's great news Emma - pleased you managed to get one as well! I think mine is an old version (A901) but as long as it can mix up a cake for me, who cares! (only trouble is, I don't know when I'll be able to get over to my Dads to collect it. Maybe I'll have to bribe him to deliver it for me )
The Dogmother
I think that's the same version as mine Snowy. What colour trims are on yours?

craftyhunnypie
My mixer is here and it is fantastic! Not made anything in it, but I've had it whirling round with its K beater, whisk etc. I thrilled. Can't wait to whisk up some fluffy egg whites for meringues! The yolks I will use in an egg custard for my dad!!!!! Woohoo! Emma.x
Snowy
Woohoo! Let us know what you make! I've just got hold of a mincer on ebay - £2.20!!
craftyhunnypie
Wow Snowy - what great bargains you've had! I suppose you could make your own spaghetti / egg noodles with the mincer too??? My father in law makes me laugh. He has a kenwood & he would not let me have it as he uses it solely for peeling his potatoes!!!!! That's it! & there is only him to peel spuds for...plus he only eats about 4! Always tickles me! We hinted loads to him. Anyway, got my own now & no I won't be buying a spud peeler bowl! Emma.x

No idea what I'm going to mince either - I just can't resist a bargain!
The Dogmother
My mother always used to use the mincer to mince up leftovers from joints and make shepherd's pie or burgers. I don't think I'd use one either and I daren't look to see what they have on ebay *covers eyes*. My folks used to have a cream maker. I hate cream, but they love it on fruit. When I last had my Kenwood serviced, they said that it was hard to find the parts now for my model
Egluntyne
Am roasting a chicken in my Remoska this very minute (free range organic!).
craftyhunnypie
Eglutine - you'r emaking me very jealous! Have you got the Standard or the grande? I'm going to buy one next time I'm near a Lakeland but I don't know whether to go for the Standard or grande? I suppose for a bit extra money the Grande would be better? Egluntyne
I've got the Grande...when I bought it though all three children plus my Dad were being catered for. Less than 4 of you and I would go for the regular. It does the most fab roast chicken.
The Dogmother
But can you fit a chicken in the regular? I always over-cater It's an Italian thing. I've been yenning after one for a while now, and may ask for money towards one for my C*&^%$£"( and birthday present. My only worry is where to keep it - my kitchen is tiddly and doesn't have much storage space. I'll have to ask around my friends and see if anyone has one that I can borrow to road test. How eerie.......I was pondering on that last night. Probably a small one ....and only just. I always over- cater massively...but with a teenage son still at home nothing goes to waste. They crop up on ebay from time to time. (Remoskas...not teenage sons!)
The Dogmother
I'd be wanting the bigger one then Egluntine - I always buy bigger roasting chooks so that we have plenty of cold meat and soup too. They're better value that way.

craftyhunnypie
Guess what??!!! I've got my kenwood of which I am very proud..& it's already produced an excellent coffee cake & tonight a chocolate cake! But even better....tomorrow we're going on the train with my mum & dad to Shrewsbury shopping & dad has said he'll buy me & mum a remoska to shut us up!!!! woohoo!!! I adore Lakeland - all the gadgets & craft stuff. Also got my eye on some pop up christmas tree xmas cards. I also want some easy yo for my yogurt maker - great for my diet! Will also be going the QVC shop which also has loads of craft stuff! Need stuff to go on my xmas cards! (even tho I have loads already). Now who's going to be first on my card list?? So Sundays meals will be coming from the remoska! Starting with Bacon, mushrooms & eggs for brekkie!!!!
Snowy
Great news Emma! Was it easy to do the cakes with the Kenwood? I've not got mine yet. Trying to persuade Dad he needs to visit me!
craftyhunnypie
excellent Snowy! I just used the K beater as recommended by Claret. Chucked in the sugar & butter ( well marg) - turned on, whizzed it up, turned off and added the eggs one by one, with a whizz here & there, then added my camp coffee - little whizz. Finally chucked in all the flour - whizzed it slowly - then turned it on full whack for a good few minutes. Job done!!! So so quick! If you want you can leave it whizzing and just chuck everything in so often if you have all the ingredients weighed out ready. You will love it - really makes you bake more! Much to hubby & dads delight! It makes excellent meringue too - really quickly using the balloon whisk. Yummy for me as I use egg whites and canderel sweetner! I stewed some apple with sweetener & a bit of water. Mashed it up & beat in 3 egg yolks. Baked that in the oven until set, then put the meringue mixture on top & re baked it. It was yummy & hubby has just finished his & said ' you can make that again! I didn't tell him it was a slimming world recipe!!!! You need yours - promise your dad a nice cake!!!
