Chickabee
For all the years I've kept chickens I've had the very hippy way of thinking "just let them get on with it". However when my Brahma went broody I knew I had to do something. I've now broken 2 Broodies in just over a week. The cage is ready and set up for the next one. I take back everything I've said in the past
SeramaSilly
Ha I've currently got one serama due to come out of 'chicken jail' today and as soon as she's out the other broody goes in. I had the brilliant idea of attaching the cage (wire cat carrier) to a corner of the run at about face height so it doesn't take up any floor space - methinks this is going to become a permanent feature! mullethunter
I do always feel bad, but when they come out pretty much un-broody 3 days later I'm always glad I did it.
Lewis
Glad to hear it Short stint in the broody crate is much better than sitting losing condition and attracting Red Mite for weeks
The Dogmother
Fazackerly!!! I have 3 broodies rotating through mine right now, with one of the silver sussex bantams being the current occupant - she is an evil cow
