Losing a much loved and pampered pet is just the worst feeling ever. On a positive note i would get a cube and at least 3 more chicky friends for Ella - i think its the only way to cheer both you and Ella up a little

chelsea
Stressful day. We went to a breeder about 5 minutes away. Brought home 3 new hens and 2 of them were extremely flighty and 1 ended up on the caravan roof ...now im used to docile quiet non flying hens - so we took 2 back immediately and we now just have the 1 new addition. Ella our existing hen is not at all happy, she has spent most of the afternoon clucking extremely loudly and wouldnt go in the eglu or run with the new hen in there, so to avoid upsetting the new chicken, and Ella and the neighbours I have removed the new chicken - she is now in the kitchen in a dog crate under the table........do you think that she'll be ok in there for the night? Also - introductions - is it normal for my existing hen to be THAT LOUD towards the new one?
