Miss Feathers
Morning everyone i took my girl (Cruella de Vil) to the vets yesterday as she has a sore eye and is off colour. He gave me Tylan powder and told me to put .05 grams in a litre of water. Am I right in thinking that’s 5ml?? He also gave me Isathal ointment for her eye which I used but she still woke up with her eye stuck shut this morning. Am I doing this right? Cat tails
What does the bottle/box say? 0,05 grams sounds like very little. And I really don’t think it would correspond to 5 mL but it all depends on the density of the powder.
mullethunter
I think if it’s Tylan soluble it’s usually half a gram (so 0.5 rather than 0.05) per litre https://www.viovet.co.uk/Tylan-Antibiotic/c323/
Miss Feathers
Hi it came as loose powder from a ziplock bag and he has put. Give .5 gr in 1 litre of water. How do I measure something so small?
Cat tails
If you have a kitchen scale, you can measure out 1 g and then take half. Although it will never be as accurate. But you will be in the right order of magnitude.
