Krysia
Tried Lesleys recipie last night, and it didn't fiz very much maybe my bicarb is a bit old. I found it in the back of the cupboard! We have friends coming over this afternoon to help clear the garden and demolish some trees today and we are repaying them with a bonfire and some small fireworks so awe don;t scare the kids and hot dogs. I was hoping to have hokey pokey too but never mind!
craftyhunnypie
The bonfire toffee works good - I made some & took it my sister's bonfire last night! Emma.x
Lesley
I've just made some more Krysia - and it worked fine I suppose Bicarb does lose something if it is old

Lesley
Did it work Ali? Here's the batch I made on Sunday.......
ali-s
The first batch I made didn't set. I had mixed up the quantities for the sugar and golden syrup The second batch did set. I think I left it to set on the greaseproof paper too long though as the honeycomb stuck to the paper Still it was very nice
Snowy
Have just has a go at this - gets the thumbs up from all of us! Yummy!
ali-s
I took a few pieces of Hokey Pokey into work and my boss had a taste. He wants me to make some when there is a function on to have with coffee after dinner We usually serve the coffee with after eight Mints or Tablet. He obviously didn't notice the bits of greaseproof paper stuck to the bottom Not sure of the quantities of sugar, syrup and bicarb to make Hokey Pokey for
Jules.
100 suppose it won't really make any difference if you make a few more for all of us on here whilel you're at it?! will your boss give you time off in lieu or pay you for the extra working time in your kitchen? chickencam
Hubby had a go at this last night. I haven't got a very sweet tooth but this was yummy. Is it supposed to be a bit chewy or should it crunch like honeycomb. This was crisp enough to break up but then went chewy and stuck our jaws together We ate at least half of it between 5 of us in the hour it took to watch Hugh last night
Guest
i tried niella's recipe 4 times and it was a complete disaster each time, I gave up in the end as I was wasting too much ingredients
