craftyhunnypie
Hi - I went my sister in laws last night & her OH had a pair of Khaki mammoths (yes a bloke in fluffy crocs)! I loved them, so cosy, so came home & ordered some cotton candy (6's) from Sweetfeet. I also like the grape & peacock ALice's......hmmm tempting! Need to see the chocoalte ones before I order them too - will need a trip to next me thinks! Emma.x
Rona
I just got my mammoths from jelly egg this morning. They are my first pair of proper crocs. I've had the flip flops for ages and have been humming and hahhing about getting crocs but then just ordered them the other day without thinking too much about it. I am normally size 5.5, my flip flops are M5 W7 and my mammoths are M6 W8 and fit perfectly. They are so cozy and comfortable and I love them. I know you all know what they look like but here's a piccy anyway.
Egluntyne
Cor...they look really cosy. How weatherproof do you reckon the fluffy bit is?
Guest
I'm seriously thinking about ordering mine off Ebay from the American who is doing as many pairs as you want for 9.99 postage. I've fallen in love with the Troikas and who knows when we will see them here. I could order the troikas and the mammoths for one lot of postage. Rona
How weatherproof do you reckon the fluffy bit is?I shouldn't think it is waterproof at all but as there are no holes around the sides, they will be alright for walking on short grass or nipping up the garden path. I don't intend to use them for and serious digging but I need something warm and comfortable that I can use like slippers indoors but don't have to keep putting shoes on everytime I go outside. I tried Georgie boots last year but one size was too small and the next too big. I think I'll try and find some in the bigger size but made in China - seems they are likely to be a bit smaller than those made in Colorado. My feet are a bit geriatric and I can only wear shoes and slippers like hotter or ecco and now crocs. Mind you, my chiropodist says its not cheap shoes that's the problem, its cheap feet! craftyhunnypie
Whoops! I popped into next tonight & bought a pair of size 6 black mammoths! I've already ordered a apir of cotton candy mammoths from Sweetfeet! I couldn't resist & last night my toes hurt like hell, as when I lived in Austria, one time it was - 40 degress & I got very bad chilblains & also frostbite/ burn from the metal button on my jeans - I still suffer with my toes in cold weather! SO I'm cozying up tonight in my mammoths! A girl can never have too many pairs of crocs, I'll have to have another count up as I've now lost count! Love love love CROCS! Cinnamon
I just wish they had fitted me properly. I had to go & spend far too much on a pair of black Uggs today to compensate
Snowy
What a shame Cinnamon, I really feel for you! I hope they are nice and comfy - those Uggs do look gorgeous! But I think I might just be able to stretch to some Mammoths - they look perfect to slip on for the dash across the road to school!
Egluntyne
Crikey, you are lucky.I have to take mine into a shop, point & say 'buy me that....now',then he usually gets the hint I have to but it myself, wrap it up, give it to him and say....this is what you have bought me for my birthday. He was filling in an insurance form a few weeks ago and had to ask me when my birthday was. We've been married for 27 years. You learn to accept it. Mind you...I could have a second birthday, buy myself another present and he wouldn't clock it, so it has its advantages. PS ...Don't forget....if you buy from the US, your bargain could turn out to be expensive as you might be clobbered for import tax a week or so later. My son's bargain turned out not to be so fantastic when he had to pay an extra £43.
Omletina Kyckling
Hi - Re. Import duties - that happened to me with a purchase off Ebay America - the item was about £40 altogether and I was charged for import duties/taxes - the duties were only £8 but Parcel Force charged about the same again as an "administration fee" before they'd release them, so my bargain turned out not to be so. It depends how goods are marked - if they are marked as gift and low value then you don't pay, if they are marked as goods and total value (including shipping) is over £32 (I think!) you pay. It's only happened twice to me though and I've bought lots of stuff from America.
The Dogmother
That made me laugh Egluntine! On that note: Yesterday I got home to find a small bar of Galaxy chocolate on my dining room table (I'm not that keen on chocolate). I though 'Ahhhh, The Boy has bought me a present!' so I rung him up to say 'if you want to ask me out - it'll take more than chocolate'....apparently it was a freebie that came through the door and he thought I'd like it... 5 years, and he still doesn't get that I'm not keen on chocolate Oh well, it;'s the though that counts I suppose. Cinnamon
I once complained to mine early on in our relationship that he never bought me flowers. He came home the following day with a cactus & said 'there, that will last you a few years'
The Dogmother
I like that Sarah! My ex NEVER bought me flowers, not even when Rosie was born - when I asked him why he hadn't got me any, he said 'you've got enough'
ubereglu
I like that Sarah! My ex NEVER bought me flowers, not even when Rosie was born It's not like that with my Mum and Dad, I had a chat with Mum at the weekend as Dad had gone out somewhere, picking up flowers. I said he always does stuff like that for you anniversary and she'd said no, it was ever since you were born. Obviously he didn't think how precious Mum was until she nearly died from having me! She had a have a caesarian to give birth to me as I was slowly killing her and her blood pressure was through the roof. It really does put another perspective on him! Guest
I like that Sarah! My ex NEVER bought me flowers, not even when Rosie was born - when I asked him why he hadn't got me any, he said 'you've got enough' My ex was once a charmer but something happend to him (drink!). A few days before I had James we were at Bingo and there was a big stuff up made by the manager and he ended up saying "OK it'll be free bingo on Thursday night". Now Thursday was the day I was booked in for a C-section (should have been Friday but had to be changed due to an England match that was more important than the birth of his son). Thursday morning off to hospital have the baby, ex goes home in the afternoon. Comes back in the evening with his mother stays for half hour AND THEN GOES TO BINGO!!! He couldn't even stay for the whole of visiting.
craftyhunnypie
My hubby is very good at buying me fleurs (as we call them) - I get them almost every week depending on how well they are lasting. But we also have another reason. Since we got married - we have a coconut that we sort of erm...worship. We make sure there is a fresh flower on it at all times to bring us good luck, health, wealth & happiness. It has worked wonders in all of these things - we swear by it. If the flower starts to look a bit shrivelled, we replace it immediately & within half an hour we have some good business come our way. Wierd but very very true. YOu probably all think I'm even more barking mad than you already thought now! Emma.x
CatsCube
Vering a bit back on topic lol this site http://www.taylorshoes.com/crocsmammoth.htm?gclid=CNDnrtLOso8CFQhCMAodV3AbKw Says that you need to go up a size, and that insides are removable and washable, but also as a handy guide, it shows you if you measure your foot from toe to healwhat size you will be!
