The Dogmother
Thanks for that Myles, I think that I can feel a day trip coming on, or maybe an overnight stay at a B&B Is it NT? We have membership, so that'd be even better. Rosie really loves going to stately homes now that she's 7. We've had a bit more of a flurry here in Banbury, and it's snowing in Birmingham

Mel (& Paul)
When we returned from the hospital on THursday 29th, after Philomena had died we had a very light flurry of snow. Yesterday, the day of the funeral we had a very small amount again. We very rarely have snow, so rather nice I think.

Nnooooooo We will let you know when we are coming up and it would be lovely to have a get together with some local Omleteers We thought about just doing it for the day, but Phil suggested that it would be more relaxing if we stayed somewhere overnight - I might ask you nearer the time for details of a B&B in the area. The day of my granny's funeral was very hot and we had the most tremendous thunderstorm. She was a great believer in the elements and nature, and I thought at the time that it was Mother Nature's way of marking her passing. No snow here today, after yesterday's flurries I half expected to wake up to a covering, but it's drizzling sleet at the moment. Pretty grim

Cate in NZ
Lucky you . I hope it gets nice and thick so you can take Daisie for a lovely long crunchy walk today Does she like the snow, or do her little legs sink into it We've only got freezing cold temperatures and rain down here. Horrible day.... I want to crawl back under my duvet every time I look outside right now. Son's about to go and play rugby too- in this I do not want to see his kit when he brings it home
buffie
Oh yuk KateA. Nasty old day you have! Snow is slowing and will just make the ground horrid. had so much to do today, need to cover my run and clean eglu, tidy shed . Daisie likes the snow, it makes me laugh as she trots around all leggy trying to walk on front paws only Here she is with Clares 'Rosie' Have to take her out soon in her coat. Sit by the fire and don't worry about dirty kit! Hope you got the cheque by the way. Have now ruined that cheque book as put an egg in my pocket to bring in and then started doing stuff in the run and pulled out an egg covered cheque book and Palmtop! chocchick
Euugh! Would that be an Egg account then? It's only raining here, but in some ways that's nice as not so cold. It's funny seeing Daisy the dog stepping through snow Do you go to Chatsworth to see the chooks there? We are planning to make a day trip up there this year. Might just come back with a bantam of two.... Do they sell chickens at Chatsworth? Might be worth a visit, I've been with my parents but could maybe take other half there for look at chickens and other stuff. Sheffield is only about 30 mins away according to the website. Cate in NZ
Had to revive this topic because it's finally snowing here, lovely fat snowflakes and settling too I hope I wake up to snow deep enough to stomp in tomorrow morning. Wellies already lined up by the back door, and daughter has grand plans for sledging. Son is cursing, he's got tickets to watch his beloved Charlton play Leyton Orient tomorrow, and is terrified that heavy snow will result in a match postponement. I just want some snow
The Dogmother
Oooo, aren't you lucky. I'd love some snow, but it's just cold and drizzly here tonight! I'm miserable, so I might just go to bed with my Sudoko book.
Lesley
Cold and wet here as well Clare
The Dogmother
I've just looked out Lesley, and there's wet snow coming down now. It's really cold here, where my desk is under the stairs, don't know why, although I didn't get time to light the stove this evening, what with collecting R from Brownies, and getting her to bed before she collapsed in a tired grumpy stupor I'm a tad down this evening, and Phil's even staying at his place, so I've put the leccy blanket on, and will go up for a nice hot bath now. Cate in NZ
I hope you're feeling more cheerful today Clare. The snow that I had such high hopes for all came to nothing- a little bit on rooves etc this morning, but nothing at all on the ground. Been a nice day today though, cold, but bright and crisp
The Dogmother
I'm feeling a lot better now thanks Kate The snow came late here and was really wet too. We woke to a tremendous frost this morning, and it still hasn't completely gone . The wind is up and it's vvvvv cold. We've had the stove going all day and it's lovely and toasty indoors.
