Chicken on a mission
I could do with losing 6 stone My normal diet is ok so no need for change there but I binge on the bad stuff when I'm bored. So now I'm trying to change the way I live so that don't have those bored moment anymore. I have started horse riding again which is great because it hammers home how bad things have got. I never found that my weight affected my life before and have just realised this is because my lifestyle changed so that I don't actually do the things I used to do that kept me fit and hom can't do anyway. It's a vicious circle and I have only just worked it out So now instead of sitting of an evening in front of the computer binge eating, I go to the gym. This (I was going to say 'kills 2 birds with 1 stone' but I don't think that's appropriate for this forum!) works in 2 ways. 1. I'm not at home binge eating 2. I'm getting the excercise I need I have lost 1/2 stone in 2 weeks without even thinking about it so there is hope for me yet
Mel (& Paul)
Well done you! I have the same problem - boredom eating (just had a Cadbury's snowflake - yummy!) so as long as I dont think about food I am ok. Problem is I tend to think about food 24/7. I horse ride too - not so much fun on the sitting trot when there's a kind of wave of wobbly bits
Hellcat
I wish! Did 50 again last night, You see, I CAN do it! (But still fancy the 50 Crunchies, donations gratefully accepted!)
Popcorn
Ohhhh...good for you's COAM and HG. I have to be so careful what I eat, I can't just eat what I like without putting on weight. Since becoming pregnant it's like I've been given the green light to eat what I like when I like - and I have - BIG TIME. I'm feeling awful. I've got a fat back - never had one of those before, big wobbly thighs and my hips are HUGE. I was a wee size 12 before I fell pregnant (with lots of gym work to keep me at that size I might add!) and I am DREADING the aftermath of all this food I'm eating....My bump feels like it's made up of more 'me' than baby I think I'll be in size 18's for a while Now...where did that Mars Bar go....... Hellcat
No pressure Gina but try and breastfeed if you can bear it. Heaps of weight fell off me really quickly with the first two, and I only put some back on when I stopped. Don't worry too much, most people put weight on when pregnant and most get rid of it all too. My poor old bod is feeling it this time and so I have to start exercising (a swearword in my house!) or I won't get in to the ball gown in July. (Hubbys work do - not as glam as it sounds but loads of skinny YOUNG things there to live up to...sob sob)
Guest
I always put on LOADS of weight when pregnant, especially with the first, and I found it exceedingly difficult to lose. Why, when everyone else in the world loses weight when breast-feeding, am I the only one not to? And I fed two of them for 15 months each! ['if you can bear it' - I found it the most wonderful thing, it made me feel so close to my babies, partly because I was the ONLY person who could satisfy their need. Also it avoided all the 'can I feed him/her?' issues and I strongly felt that it was important for a baby to know its parents as the providers and carers. Being passed round all the time must be very confusing.] Sorry some people may not appreciate this conversation!
Hellcat
I'm with you on that one. Medals to you for feeding for 15 nmonths - I manage about 7 months and then get fed up with it. I must confess to having put weight on this time too while feeding but I thought this was me comfort-eating cos the hubs away during the week! Guest
I must confess to having put weight on this time too while feeding but I thought this was me comfort-eating cos the hubs away during the week! Probably is Helen! Apart from anything else, you must be rushed off your feet and trying to eat a healthy organised diet is very difficult! Don't be hard on yourself. Popcorn
Good advice there Helen. I intend to breastfeed, but you never know do you. I think deep down we all know why we don't loose the weight - and it doesn't take much does it, the odd choccy bar here and there is really the thing we need to give up ( ) I'm feeling all positive again now - thanks guys! Hellcat
*stuffing food into mouth* What crunchies? To be honest, Ian came home on Friday and we drank too much wine, went to a party yesterday and...you guessed it... drank too much wine so havent done the CRUNCHES (no 'i') for the last two days. Will be back on track tonight though. (Feel like poo today though, great party!)
Mel (& Paul)
ok I fess up too no crunches at all I WILL start tomorrow but cant promise to do 50 - i dont have one of those ab fab thingies so have to rely on my own muscle (yeah, right, like I have any under the wobbly bits ) I am also going to do "step ups" on the stairs - but again, starting low and building up Stick with it Helen - dont beat yourself up for skipping the two days - just concentrate on the future I'm behind you (stuffing crunchies in my mouth whenever you're not looking!) Hellcat
It is easier with the machine thingy. You do 20, I'll do 50. Hows that? And while you're stuffing crunchies I'll be munching cake!
