Guest
Hi everyone, have had my Eglu since July, my girls, Beryl and Rita are wonderfully friendly and dearly loved. I have been in communication via ebay with Clare, she already knows of my dreadfully sad news, I have to part with them and their funky home as I am emmigrating to New Zealand. This is one of the hardest things I will have to do, and I am looking for a loving home for my darlings. Anyone out there interested? Guest
Can't take anything into NZ with our soil etc on it, and with ridiculous world-wide bird-related hysteria, dare not mention anything remotely avian! So can't take it, but will get more, though couldn't replace Beryl and Rita!
Mrs Frugal
That's so sad Liz. I can understand why you're feeling so gloomy but New Zealand is a fab place. I've got a friend out there who is always telling me so! I'll copy your posting into the second hand Eglus section too so that anyone just looking there will see it too. Good luck - you're not far from me but my OH won't let me have a pink one ! By the way, could you e-mail Barbara with your contact details as guests can't use forum PMs and e-mails so that you can be put in touch with them if anyone is interested - barbara@omlet.co.uk

clare*
I'm sure your Eglu and girls will find a good home soon. I hope you did not mind me telling you about the hens not being allowed to be on your listing with ebay Or then telling you to pay a visit to this forum I was not sure if you would think I was some kind of fruit cake
Lesley
We're all fruit cakes here Clare* - aren't we? - is it just me?
Sheilaz
Just you, Lesley! But I do like fruitcake. Good luck, Liz C, I'm sure someone will give your lovely girls a good home. Wish I could help you out there by buying the Eglu. Or carrying your bags to NZ? Hope all goes well & perhaps you'll get some chooks again when the time is right. Karen & co.
I put on my best pleading voice last night, to see if I could persuade OH to let us have it, but it didn't work!! Despite my pleadings about the fact the girls would have a choice of homes after the settling in period, and two new friends to play with It worked with the puppy, but then again I had started suggesting it just after we got the dog, and that was 18 months after I suggested it!!!! .......perhaps if I try for another 18 months who knows!!! Lesley
We collected the Pink Eglu this afternoon - I'm so excited! It has been difficult for Liz and that's why I haven't said anything, she and her daughters are very sad to see their chickens go. The girls, Beryl and Rita are just soooooo gorgeous! A big thank you to Liz and Ellis for letting us look after their girls. Lauren and Ellis are the same age and Lauren will be keeping in touch with Ellis and sending photos of Beryl and Rita in their new home. We are hoping that Ellis will send photos of the new hens they will get in New Zealand - they are thinking of getting Silkies. The new girls are in a nice clean GREEN Eglu for a couple of days as the pink one won't fit in the sectioned off part of the big run. The other 6 layers are all sharing the other green eglu quite happily. They love to do that when it is cold anyway.
